Tutorial: How to Make a Lantern Shaped Christmas Mini Album
Hello Crafty Friends : )
I received a Lantern Mini Album Beyond The Page Kit in my DT box from Kaisercraft, and you all know how much I do love to make Mini Albums... I thought I would write up a little Tutorial to explain how I made this project.
I received a Lantern Mini Album Beyond The Page Kit in my DT box from Kaisercraft, and you all know how much I do love to make Mini Albums... I thought I would write up a little Tutorial to explain how I made this project.
Step One - Paint Your Album.
I chose to paint my Album in "Sea Breeze". I love this colour and thought it would be nice paired with the black and white "Christmas Edition" papers.
Step Two - Add Texture and Decorate
I mixed white paint with Texture Paste to smooth over the top of the Swirl Flourish Template to decorate the front cover of the album.
To fill in the window holes on the front cover I used Snowcapped (Reverse).
I used some die cuts and Glitter Card Stock to create some decoration for the front cover. I love the word "Believe" die and it always looks nice cut in the Glitter Card stock.
I also used a silver doily, some Pearl String and Paper Booms to decorate.
Step 3 - Inside Pages
For each of the inside pages I used the same design. This cuts out a lot of the thinking with a Mini Album. I used Coal paper (Reverse) strips and I coloured random leaves in with gel pens.
I used the black and silver foil paper from the Paper Pad for another strip and fussy cut some images from Rejoice (Reverse) to decorate.
I added some number stickers to show the year for each of the photos. I also coloured some wooden embellishments with a silver gel pen and embellished with a little bling.
Below is a complete list of all the products I used to make this Album...

DIY Clean and Simple Christmas Cards
Hello Crafty Friends,
Today I'm sharing a Tutorial on how to make your own DIY Clean and Simple Christmas Cards. These cards are perfect for mass production. They are quick to make, sparkly and can be made in any colour you choose! I filmed a Video Tutorial on how I made these cards so you can see exactly how I put them together.DIY Clean and Simple Christmas Cards
Kaisercraft Products you will need:
Glitter Card Stock in three colours...GC109 Emerald, GC107 Golden, GC120 Ruby
DD321 Decorative Die - Merry Christmas
IT021 Mini Designer Template - Flourish Tree
Kaiser Colour Paint in three colours...
KC050 Metallic Gold, KC028 Green, KC009 Red
CD511 Card Pack C6 - White
T321 Acid Free Craft Glue
(You will also need texture paste)
3 Easy Steps to Make the Cards
1. Mix Paint with Textured Paste and smooth over the top of the template and onto the card bases.Hints: When mixing the paint and texture paste do not use too much paint. You want it to be mostly texture paste with just enough paint to give you the colour you want. If you make the mixture too runny it will seep under the template and ruin your image. Also make sure you clean your template between colours and immediately after use. When you clean it do it very carefully with a baby wipe or paper towel and water. Then pat it dry gently. You don't want to lift up the delicate swirls in the image which can be easily done if you are too rough with the template.
2. Die Cut the "Merry Christmas" sentiment out of Glitter Card Stock.
3. Adhere the sentiment with glue
Oh my! Is it really that easy? Yes it is!
These cards are very quick to make!
I chose red, green and gold, but you don't have to stop there. Kaisercraft makes Glitter Card Stock in 20 colours!! Imagine the possibilities!
They are also quite fun to make and you could easily make a bulk set of 20 cards or more.
Feel free to copy this design, or use it as inspiration.
Happy Crafting : )
