Is it really Thursday already??

Hi Blogging Beauties,

Wow this week is flying by!  can you believe it is Thursday already.
It is school holidays here and I am loving it.
Today was rainy and windy so I just had to stay indoors and catch up on computer stuff and cards.
I made two of these "Thinking of You" cards using a SU stamp set that I really love.
I just love the tree.  The papers are SU too and match pretty well.  I had to use old olive ink which wasnt exactly the same colour, but it is all green!!
I made two of these one for a special order and one for me to send to a friend who just lost her Dad.  I would like to enter these cards at Scrapbook Sisters - use Leaves.

Onto some more Sixtieth cards now.  Another neutral coloured one.  The "y" really bugs me on this card, it looks a bit weird, but I struggled to fit it on the chipboard.
I would like to enter this in at Paper Pretties - use a sentiment as a Focal Point.

And a bright, cheery, orange one.  I like the orange one better so did the lady as she chose that.  This card I would like to enter at Crafts and Me - use Flowers.

Have you seen my new candy? You must enter! Go here to leave your lucky entry....

Also have you seen this site??  Do you want to sell you cards for free online with no costs??? Membership is free and you can start selling straight away.

Sales have been running hot today at Aussie Card for Sale.  I am heading back over there now to upload some new designs.  Have you seen the site lately?? We have a gorgeous selection of cards...not many of mine, but some from arguably the most talented card-makers in Australia!  Its always worth a sticky, even if you are just after some inspiration.

Hope you have a lovely evening.

60th Birthday Cards

 Hi Blogging Beauties,

It is a yukky, overcast and windy day here today.  Perfect for making a few cards!  I have been making sixtieth cards.  I have some special orders to fill.  I have made four, but two are still drying so I might share them tomorrow.  One lady cleberating her sixtieth birthday will get three of these so they all have to be different.  The first one is a very elegant card, in neutral colours.  The second more bright and cheery and modern I guess.  All the materials I have used out of two candies I have recently received.  What delicious goodies!! The papers are SU.  I tried my hardest to get those letters straight below, but they still look crooked to me!

I would like to enter these cards at Celebrate The Occasion - Any Occasion but must use ribbon.  I have used ribbon on both these cards.

I'm off the the grocery shop, but before I go I thought I would share a picture of my nieces trying their best to hold Tommy today and pose for a photo.  He was a bit frightened of them and doesnt look overly happy!!
They loved him though!  He is a very gentle dog and spends most of his time asleep on my lap. I dont know how he is going to cope when he transitions to outdoors!
I think I am spoiling him way too much.

If you feel like a read, head on over.  It is a world-linky party.
Thank you so much to Jill for featuring me.

Tuesday's News....

Hello Blogging Beauties,

In my last post I said I was turning over a new leaf with my blogging, well I am up to date on comments and I have some lovely new cards to share...and some other stuff as well.

Yesterday I made three cards all in a row!  But I cheated.  I did not colour a single image.   I was on a bit of a time constraint you see.
The first one was a baby card for my beautician.  She has recently had the cutest little baby girl I have seen in awhile.  They named her Ivy Rose.  This image I printed out coloured and simply attached to the card.  I added a little glitter to the wings.

The second card is for my nephew Ryan who turns four today.  He loves motorbikes and his big brother (aged six) has his very own so I though this Kenny K image would suit.
I didnt colour it at all - how lazy! I just left it black and white.

I thought I would enter this card in the Cards for Men Challenge - Sports.

The third card was a special order for a friend to give her nine-year old daughter. Her birthday is also today.    She loves dogs so I used this image and printed it out already coloured as well.
The gorgeous swirl pearls were sent to me from the lovely Liz.  It is the first time I have ever used those on a  card and I can see why people love them.  The papers are Prima.  The ribbon came out red in the top photo but is closer to the pink in the bottom photo.

I would like to enter this card in Digi Day's Challenge: Lots of layers.

So that is the cards taken care of now onto a few other things....

Sadly I am stepping down from the Southern Girls team after spending a lovely year with the team.  They are currently having a Design Team call so if you would like to be a part of one of the friendliest Design Teams in blog land head on over here and enter.

Finally, last night we picked up our new puppy Tommy.
He is adorable and Ben and I fell in love with him in the first hour we had him.
Here are a couple of pics....

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I hope you have a great Tuesday!

Mad for Markers Card and SG Bloghop Winner

Hi Blogging Beauties,

Today for the Mad for Markers Colourless Blender Challenge I am sharing a card I made with some chipboard corners on it.
I dont often use my Colourless Blender, but I do like to use it when I colour chip board.
I coloured the chipboard in with RV29 and then went over some bits with the Colourless Blender.  It gives the colour more depth or interest I think.  This chipboard was very fine and dainty so I just used the Colourless Blender on the thicker parts.

This is a very easy and simple way to use the Colourless Blender.
Why not have a go and link up your card to our challenge this fortnight?
You still have a week to get in your entry.

Here is the completed card.  It is an engagement card for my brother-in-law and his girlfriend to give to their very close friends. They wanted to have a photo on the card to personalise it.
Their engagement party is tonight.

The chipboard pieces and Love stamp came from the beautiful candy win I had from the lovely Viv.  I am starting to get a chance to put some of Viv's lovely goodies onto some cards.

Also I need to announce my winner from the Southern Girls Blog Hop.
That lucky person is:

Tracy you need to head on over to Southern Girls and email them to claim your prize of three Simply Betty Digis!

I have to appologise for my bad blogging lately.  I have had two very busy weeks.  I am turning over a new leaf on Monday though, and planning to get right back into all my card-making and blogging.  Thanks for stopping by to have a look.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Happy and Sad News

Hi Blogging Beauties,

Long time - no post, I know...life has been busy and I am behind with card-making.
I need to share some news first though.

I was very excited to have some of my cards published in this month's edition of Australian Cardmaking Stamping and Papercraft...yay!!!!!!!!!!
And...my card is even on the front cover!!!
(It is the bottom card in red with the Christmas baubles.)

So I am very proud and excited.

The sad news is that Herbie the lamb passed away.
It was devastating for me...it really depresses me when an animal dies.
I get really sad and down...but unfortunately he just wasnt meant to live.
It was a horrible rainy day the day he died....

But, life goes on and the cycle of life continues.
We tailed 187 lambs last weekend at Mum and Dad's, and that is a lot!
We had to give them injections as well.
They are much healthier when they have their Mum's milk...the mix-up milk is just not as good.

Just before I go...here is a little card I made for my cousin James for his 21st B'day and a matching present.

I hope you are all well and happy : )

Thanks for popping by.

Mad for Marker's Spring Challenge

Hi Blogging Beauties,

This is my very late Mad for Markers post that should have gone up yesterday.
But I was feeling unwell and so it is only getting up today!
For our Spring-time challenge I have made a set of three identical clean and simple cards.
I went for a very spring-time image with a flower and a cute little chickie.  It is a Designed to Delight image I think I won awhile back now.

I went for a clean and simple design for a change, because sometimes I get sick of it taking me two hours to make a single card.  And sometimes I just feel like colouring in and not spending most of my time fussing with layers of paper and embellishments.  So I can say that I really had fun making these little cards.  I am sure they will come in handy in my stash.

The Copics I used are:

Pinks: RV06, RV04, RV02
Yellows:YR23, Y15, Y02
Greens: YG23, YG03, YG11

Not long now until the Copic Conference.  I can't wait!! Head over here to check out all the details if you are like me and just cant bear to miss out!!  I cant wait to colour all weekend with no interruptions (except chattering) and learn new skills.

You still have a week to enter our Spring Challenge...so get your cards in!

I hope you had a lovely weekend.

Southern Girls 1st Birthday Blog Hop

Good morning Blogging Beauties,

Today is a very exciting day!  Southern Girls is one year old.
Can you believe it and what a fantastic year it has been with the support from all our wonderful sponsors, and to be on the best Design Team anyone could wish for.

In celebration of this, we have an amazing bloghop with some of our fantastic regular sponsors giving away fabulous prizes. You should have arrived from Lou's, if not, head back to www.southerngirlschallenges.blogspot.com where a full blog hop list is.

In my card I have used a cute little digi image from Simply Betty. He is called Tangled Jude and he is on special for $1.50.  If you want him you can get him here.  Our theme for the hop is birthday and my image looks a little more Christmassy I know....but I decided to make him into a birthday card for someone who has their birthday on Christmas day.  A special birthday card with a Christmas theme.  (I think it could be in my stash for awhile before he finds his next home, but I am okay with that because I like him.  I think he is quite cute!!)  Also for our theme you have to include layers.  I made sure I had heaps and heaps of layers on my card.
simplybettystamps.com
There are loads of prizes to be won and each DT member on the blog hop has a prize to share.
My prize is from Simply Betty.  She is giving away 3 digital images to one lucky lady who 1 - comments on my blog and 2 - enters the challenge at Southern Girls.
So, to recap.... the rules are simple, make sure you make a card and enter on Southern Girls Challenges, also leave me a comment, and on the 20th of September I will draw a random name, that will win the three Simply Betty digital images.

Now you need to head over to Autumn's blog.

Thanks for stopping by my blog...dont forget to leave a comment and make your card!
You have a fortnight to get your entries in.

Enjoy the hop.

A Couple of Father's Day Cards and some news!!

Hi Blogging Beauties,

I was madly making Father's Day cards this weekend as we celebrated Father's Day yesterday in Australia.  The top one was for my FIL.
The bottom one was for my sister to give her hubby.
I used a photo of their three little ones.  Jack is only a couple of weeks old at the moment.
They were all a bit rushed, but time is escaping me lately.

You will be pleased to hear that Herbie the lamb is getting on very well.
He is one week old today and growing strongly.
This week I am getting him down to three feeds a day.
