Mad For Markers ~ DT ~ New Challenge - Tag Sketch

Hi Blogging Beauties,

There is a new challenge over at Mad for Markers and it is a Tag challenge designed by Melissa.
There is some lovely inspiration already over at the Mad for Marker's Challenge Blog!
I will  be posting mine next Tuesday.
Hope I can make up a nice one!!

Today though, I have another card.
I get a lot of special requests through my Card Site Aussie Cards for Sale.
This was a request for an 80th Birthday.
I felt comfortable in choosing these papers because the lady turning 80 buys cards off me and so I am familiar with her tastes in cards.  I kept it very simple...but the papers are very decorative so I didnt need to do too much.

I have a very busy week happening this week!
(The story of my life)
I had Kindergarten today and it was a very busy day!
Hope you had a happy day.

Will talk again soon,

Weekend Away ~ Escape to the beach!

Hi Blogging Beauties,

I have been missing in action.  Ben and I went to Coffs harbour for the weekend and had a lovely time.  We enjoyed some sun-rays and warmer weather.  We went to the famous Big Banana.  Neither of us had been actually inside the Big Banana since we were little kids.  So we decided to visit this time.   (Carol, put this on your wish list for your trip over here.)  We also caught up with some much loved family members and a precious friend from uni who all live there.

Photo of us at the pool...some kids were swimming and even they were feeling the cold!!

Cool photo of this plant on our beach walk.

The beautiful Pacific Ocean.

But its back to reality now and I am working every day this week.
I am going to be one busy chicken licken!

Have a good week.

Paper Play DT ~ Blossoms and Blooms

Hi Blogging Beauties,
It is a Paper Play Thursday today!
This week we are very kindly sponsored by Whiff of Joy - and the random winner will receive one WOF stamp.

This week DT member Rosie wants us all to make a card/project using
"Blossoms and Blooms"
as our theme.
I am so happy to post a pretty card.
I am sick of the ugly male cards I have been trying to make!

I made this card for my sister for her birthday.
I coloured it with Copics.
C-1, C-3, C-5, BG10, E21, E51, V06, V17, V15, BV00, V09, V04

I love this maggie image.

Have a lovely weekend.

Mad for Markers ~ DT ~ Colouring Embellishments

Hi Blogging Beauties,

It is my turn to post today about our current challenge at Mad for Markers.
To enter the challenge you need to colour some embellishments on your card.

I have some male cards to share today.  Nothing pretty unfortunately!
On this first card I coloured in the chipboard photo corners with Copic marker Black 100.
I also coloured in the Kaisercraft rhinestones too.  They were the crystal clear ones and I made them black and masculine too.

Then I have another two masculine cards shown below where I have coloured the rhinestones with Copic marker Olive G99.

Two very simple ways of colouring embellishments with Copics.

Link up your creations to be eligible for the prize!

Thanks for looking and happy colouring,

Two quick cards and a Summer LO

Hi Blogging Beauties,

Happy Monday!
I have a couple of little cards I made awhile ago now.
They were a very simple design, but I really liked how they turned out.
One day I would like to make more of them.

Also, today I played around with this LO.
I made it using the Daisy Trail Craft Artist Compact free software.
Maybe I was longing for summer!
Winter hasn't really started here yet, but I am a bit over it already.
I hate winter clothes.  They are so annoying to wear! Give me a t-shirt and skirt any day over trousers, jumpers, coats and layers!  I planted some carrot seeds and broccoli seeds today and we bought a big vegie garden planter box.  I will keep you updated on its progress.

Don't forget to enter my blog candy.
Scroll down to the next post to enter.
Have a lovely day.

Happy 100th Birthday and Magnolia Candy!!!

Hi Blogging Beauties,

I hope you had a lovely weekend.
I did...today I have been making cards, washing clothes, and tidying up out in the chook yard...trimming some trees, pulling out some weeds, watering etc.

I had a request from Ben's Nan to make her two 100 year old birthday cards.
I have never made one of these cards before.
The cards were going to the same lady, but from two different organisations.
So I wanted them to look quite different.

The first one came together easily because I followed my standard design that I can make in my sleep now I think!  The second one I struggled with, but eventually got it over the line.  I was trying to make them, what I thought, would be appealing to an elderly lady.  The cards are not really to my tastes.  But Ben's Nan thought they were beautiful...thank goodness!

However, here is something that is to my tastes!

This beautiful Flying Angel Tilda.
She is my current blog candy.
She is a never-been used mounted stamp.
I will be a little sad to see her go, but the reality is I have too many of these Maggies and I need to farm them out good homes!

If you would like to win her all you need to do is leave a comment on this post and be a follower of my blog.  It is that easy!

Thanks for popping on over and seeing me.
I hope you have a lovely day.

 Hi Blogging Beauties,

Over at Aussie Cards for Sale there are some gorgeous new cards for sale.  I just had to share them with you.  These cards are made by the talented Iwona Palamountain.
Visit Iwona here.

These cards are made by the talented Natalie Hearn.
Visit Natalie here.

There are so many gorgeous card for sale at the moment so why dont you hop on over here and check them out!  If you see a card you like snap it up quickly.  At $5 each they sell like hotcakes!

Speaking of hopping we had a little hopping friend visiting us this morning...I took some photos thinking especially of Carol and any other overseas blogging friends that might be reading my blog.  I couldnt get up close as he was a little scared and my camera doesnt have a very big zoom on it, but here they are...

Can you see him just near the lemon tree?

He kept trying to get through the fence, but ours are so tall because we have the deer, he couldnt hop over it.

Then he hopped along the fence...I was hoping he would find his way to freedom.

Another shot of him hopping.

Then he found the other corner of the yard and then hopped up the driveway and out!
I googled the totem...I like to do that if you see an animal that you dont normally see, or you think maybe they had a message for you and the kangaroo symbolises balance and strength.  Very relevant to my life at the moment!

Hope you enjoyed the pics.
Have a lovely weekend.

Mad For Markers ~ DT ~ New Challenge and some farm animal pics

Hi Blogging Beauties,

I have been a busy girl and am behind on my comments and blogging.  I hope to catch up tomorrow.  I have pretty much been working seven days straight, teaching and at the markets.
I wanted to let you know about the new Mad for Marker's Challenge.  This fortnight we are asking for you to colour embellishments...pretty easy...you can colour flowers, gemstones, ribbons, whatever you like using Copic markers.  My card doesnt demonstrate colouring embellishments today.  This was a special order card I made for a friend to send to her brother living overseas.  Very patriotic I think!  But I did use my Copics to colour this one in.
Why not hop on over to Mad for Marker's and enter the challenge...there is always a lovely prize for the winner.

Also I have some pictures to share that Ben and I took the other afternoon when we were hanging out with our animals.

Here is Ellie sitting up on the newly chopped wood we have for the fire this winter.

Two pumpkins Ben's Dad grew and gave to us...we sat them on the pile of wood and nearly forgot about them...but they looked good there so I took a photo of them.

 Jess our pet sheep.

Millie trying to eat my pink hat.

Milly our pet goat.

I am going out for dinner tonight with my cousins who are in town, but tomorrow I hope to catch up on all my commenting.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Have a lovely day,

Mad for Markers ~ DT ~ Colouring with Greys

Hi Blogging Beauties

This is my DT card for the current Mad for Marker's Challenge
Colouring with Greys.

If you need to purchase some grey Copics I recommend you head on over to Sammi at Mad for Markers and go shopping!  I get all my Copic supplies from Sammi and she is wonderful to deal with.  While you are there check out the yummy new stamps she has in stock as well!!

I had a really enjoyable time making this card.  It was a special order for a lady who wanted a birthday card for her friend of hers who loves cooking.  This is my first time at every colouring a whole image in grey...well I added a couple of colours as well.  I was trying to go for a Sepia look like the photographs that also have little bits hand painted colour in them...do you know the ones I mean.  The really old photos.  I know my Mum has some really old ones with hand painted colours on them.

In my collection of Copics I have the warm greys and the cool greys so I went with the warm greys in this card.  The colours I used are:

Greys: W-1, W-3, W-5, W-7
Other colours: R20, E35, E33, E31, R29, R59

This was a really fun challenge!
I recommend you have a go!
I loved it.
Thanks for looking and happy colouring.

P.S The winner of my latest magnolia candy was Kasey.  Congratulations Kasey!! I will get in touch with you.  I will have more candy up for grabs in the next few days...
thanks to everyone who entered.

Guest DT ~ Kenny K and Happy Mother's Day + Pics

Goodevening Blogging Beauties,

I would like to share with you today my guest DT card for the current Kenny K challenge:

"Let's Go Retro"

I used this gorgeous image called "Super Mum" and you can get her here.

I used Copics to colour her.  I was going for a vintage look.
Skin: E31, E21, E00, R20
Hair: E77, E57, E15, E31
Dress: R49, R59, E31
Outline: W-1

I made this card for Ben's Nan.  She really is a super Nan.  She amazes me with what she does!
I gave it to her the other day and she really liked it.  She said she will wrap it in some plastic and put it on the fridge so everyone can see it.  Nice when someone really likes a card you make isn't it.

I would like to wish all the Mum's out there a Happy Mother's Day.
We had a lovely time today visiting my Nan and then having a picnic lunch at Mum and Dad's.
After lunch Ben, Mum, Dad and I went on a walk around the farm.  I was snapping away on the camera, because I love to take photos of the farm.  I thought I might share some with you, because it feels like ages since I have posted some photos.

We walked right to the border on one side of the property and patted the next-door neighbours horses.  Aren't they just beautiful!

This is a photo of a large gum tree on Mum and Dad's place.

While we were out and about Dad got the dogs to move some sheep into another paddock.

This is as they are going past the dam.

We live next door to Mum and Dad in the top paddock.
We rent our house off them.  It takes about half an hour to walk to their house from ours, or a few minutes in the car.  We have been living here for 15 months now.  Finally we feel like we are settling in to the lifestyle...so different to when we were living on the Gold Coast.

Thanks for dropping by and sharing my photos.
I will post the winner of my blog candy hopefully tomorrow.
