Picture My Life ~ Chalk It Up ~ Pocket Scrapbooking Week Four

Layout #1
Hello and welcome to my fourth Chalk It Up Post for August!
What fun I have had working with the Chalk It Up Scrapbooking Program this month!

If you have missed my earlier posts you can see them below by clicking on the links:
See my final post with this kit and a video of my completed School Album here.

Layout #1

The first Layout (pictured above) was the easiest page ever.  This photo was a perfect fit for the 12x12 page supplied in the kit.
  1. Cut the matching patterned 4x6 cards edges off and adhere to the side of the photo.
  2. Adhere the matted photo to the page.
  3. Cut numbers from a 3x4 card from the kit.  Adhere to the page.
Doesn't get any easier than that! Sure, you could add more layers if you like...but I chose to keep it simple.  I love this photo and am happy to have it as the focus of the page.

Layout #2
Layout #2

For this Layout I had three photos, but they were all the same just in two different sizes.
  1. Choose four 4x6 cards.  Add some extra layers, embellishments (cut from other cards) and the photos to two of them.
  2. Leave two 4x6 cards exactly as they are. Slip them into the 4x6 pockets.
  3. Pick four 3x4 Cards for the middle row.  Journal as desired and slip them in.

Layout #3

Layout #3

I kept this Layout simple as well.
  1. Layer the four photos onto 3x4 cards.  Then again onto 4x6 cards.  Slip them into the pockets.
  2. Pick four 3x4 Cards for the middle row.
  3. Journal as desired and slip them in.

Christmas Cards Using Kaisercraft - Santa's List Collection

Hello and welcome to my blog!

Today I am sharing some bright and cheery Christmas cards I put together.  I made them as a two card set using Kaisercraft Santa's List Collection.  The little wooden trees and swirl (in the last card) is by Kaisercraft as well.  As is the berries and all the ribbon. The gem flourish is an old one from my stash by Basic Grey.

The little birdie was cut from the papers and I added a tiny bit of Kindy Glitz to his santa hat.
I think my favourite part about these cards is all the texture.

The third card was made with the same Kaisercraft products, but I went for a more neutral colour scheme.

Just for fun I am linking up to

Did you know there are only 119 days till Christmas - yikes!
It will be here before we know it.

And how excited am I! My Heidi Swapp 40th Birthday card came in the Sweet Six at Cupcake Inspirations!!! Thanks Sweeties!!! This made my day : )

Thanks for stopping by,

The Monday Message

Hello and Happy Monday!
A new week : )

Nicky has been outside doing a lot of painting lately on his easel.
He has taken to finger painting.
After the painting we have to get the hose out and clean it all up!
Which is really half the fun of the whole activity.
His socks and track suit pants have to come off because water gets everywhere!!
Here he is giving our little baby herbs a water.

I thought this quote (from Pinterest) would be appropriate:

He who plants a garden plants happiness.

We all want to plant happiness!!

-------------------------------

On the blog front I am working on three posts a week at the moment:
  1. Monday - The Monday Message - A quote, a photo, and a bit of whats happening in our lives at the moment.
  2. Wednesday - A card or two that I have made recently.
  3. Friday - Picture My Life Layouts I have been working on for the week for Jessica at Craftin' and Stampin'
So lets see how I go with this plan! That will give me a day or two in between to plan my posts.

I hope you have a beautiful week and I will see you again on Wednesday xxx

Picture My Life ~ Chalk It Up ~ Pocket Scrapbooking Week Three

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Hello!

Welcome to Part Three of my series of Posts on Chalk it Up, Picture My Life Scrapbooking Program.
I am getting some great photos scrapped and my "School Album" is filling up!! Oh how good progress feels!!!

You can read my other posts from this series, Part One here and Part Two here.

You can join me in this School Scrapping adventure too! I would LOVE to see some of your Layouts produced with the Chalk It Up Picture My Life Scrapbooking Kit.  If you are playing along please link up your Layout in the comments for me to hop on over and take a look!

It is important to note that you do not need other products separate from the Picture My Life Scrapbooking Program to make this Layout.  The only things I used were basic tools like scissors, adhesive and 3D tape.  I also used a piece of Bakers Twine I received tied onto a present.  So don't think Picture My Life Scrapbooking is going to cost a lot of money and you need lots of extra bits and pieces.  It doesn't.  Everything you need is in the kit.  They take the hard work out of shopping for these products. To purchase yours click the image or go to Jessica's shop here.

Today I am sharing two Layouts. A more detailed, embellished Layout and a Simple and quick Layout. I have a process video showing how I put together both of these Layouts at the bottom of my post.

More Detailed Layout - Using Four Smaller Photos

First lets talk about the more detailed Layout.
I concentrated on embellishing the 4x6 cards in this Layout. You can watch exactly how I did it in the video below but here are the basic steps...

Three Easy Steps
  1. Adhere photo to 4x6 card with tape.
  2. Cut arrow, heart and globe from another 4x6 or 3x4 card.
  3. Adhere embellishments with 3D tape

Three Easy Steps

  1. Cut tag from 4x6 card. Punch a hole and tie in Baker's Twine.
  2. Adhere tag to 3x4 card and layer photo on top with 3D tape.
  3. Journal on the tag.

Three Easy Steps

  1. Adhere photo to 4x6 card with tape.
  2. Cut arrow, frame, stars and School sentiment from another 4x6 or 3x4 card.
  3. Adhere embellishments with 3D tape
It is so simple and easy!! But it does look cute and everything matches perfectly.  All the colours go effortlessly together.

Simple Layout - Using Four 4x6 Photos

Three Easy Steps
  1. Slip In Your photos.
  2. Choose your 3x4 cards. I cut one 4x6 in half to make the bottom 3x4 card. I cut out the bicycle from another 3x4 card and added it to the top 3x4 card with 3D tape.
  3. Journal. Slip the cards into the pockets.
Too easy!!

Here is my YouTube Video which shows me making these Layouts. Beautiful music from Ben again for you to enjoy xx

40th Birthday Card Using Heidi Swapp Products

Just popping on to share a quick little card this morning.  I made this for a lovely friend for her 40th Birthday. I was going for a layered, Heidi Swapp look with this one.  It is fun to experiment with different styles don't you think! There was lots of textures in this one!

I used the yummy inspiration from Cupcake Inspirations.
Arent these cakes to die for!!

They remind me of a Baby Shower High Tea I went to a couple of weekends back.  Here are two little pics I snapped. And in case you were wondering, I did eat all my side of the food.  The top layer I brought home and polished off later!!

Hope you have a beautiful day.

The Monday Message

Hello, and Happy Monday!

This week's quote - Relax and Enjoy The Moment - is something I like to do.  How easy it is to go from one thing to the next, busy, busy, busy, and not stop and enjoy this moment exactly as it is now.
Right now for me, Nicky is asleep, the house is quiet, I am typing away, and its peaceful! The day promises many moments, but right now I am in this one, so I want to relax and enjoy!  Today I am going to concentrate on enjoying the moments.

By the way, this photo is taken from our balcony.  Our apartment backs onto a Golf Course and it is very pretty, especially when the sun sparkles on the water. Each time I look out at it I am grateful for the opportunity to live here.

On another topic today, you might notice a mini make over on my blog.  I read on Pinterest that blogs really do need a photo of the person writing the blog, to make it seem more personal and so the readers feel like they are connecting with the writer.  I needed a new photo of myself so Ben took this yesterday.  So now you can connect with me! Lol! Thats me! Thats what I look like on a good day, when I have done my hair and make-up!  Thats my new t-shirt I bought this weekend.  I also changed the font a little.  I will be working on my sidebar too, so stay tuned for a few more changes!

Speaking of changes...I am really interested in what you would like to read about on my blog.  I have been searching for a little direction with my posts...These are the things I have been writing about:

  • Cards I have made
  • Pocket Scrapbooking Layouts
  • Traditional Scrapbooking Layouts
  • Close to My Heart Products
  • The Monday Message
  • You Tube Process Videos (Another one coming this Friday)
Would you like to see more of this?

I am interested in writing about:
  • Ways to get your Cards Published in Magazines
  • How to make time for Crafting
  • Recipes we are currently eating
  • Photos of my family and life
  • What I am currently Learning about
  • Blogging Tips
  • My latest shopping goodies

Let me know in the comments below what you like reading about and seeing on here.  I will be very interested in your response.

Have a beautiful day,

Picture My Life ~ Chalk It Up ~ Pocket Scrapbooking Week Two

Good morning!

So nice to be sharing more exciting Picture My Life Pocket Scrapbooking with you today featuring the Close To MY Heart Chalk It Up Program.

I have more Layouts today.  First up is an embellished Layout I made using a Design 4 Page Protector that comes in the kit. Everything you see used here is from the kit. I have not added any other embellishments.

Easy Steps to Embellish

  1.  Add a small photo to the 4x6 Card.
  2.  Cut the words "One Smart Cookie" and the cookie out of a 3x4 Journalling card and adhere with 3D tape.
  3. Draw a smiley face onto the base card with black pen.

Easy Steps to Embellish

  1.  Add a small photo to the 4x6 Card.
  2.  Cut a star banner out of a 3x4 Journalling card and adhere to bottom of card.
  3. Punch a star out of 3x4 card and outline with black pen.  Adhere with 3D tape.
  4. Cut quote out of 3x4 card and adhere with 3D tape.

For my second Layout I used only 4x6 cards from the Kit to make a Traditional Scrapbook Layout.  The only thing I added was a plain white 12x12 sheet of card and some Black card for layering and of course my photo and black pen.

I created a mat for my Photo to sit on by cutting strips from the 4x6 cards that came in the kit.  I layered them onto black card.

Then I added numbers and letters cut from 4x6 cards to spell the work Kindergarten and the year 2010.
You can see the same letters in the strips behind the Photograph.  I simply outlined them in black pen to help define them a bit more.  The numbers already had a black edge so I left them as they were.
I positioned them kind of higgledy-piggledy so it creates a "school" sort of look, where perhaps a child has written it by themselves.

Lastly I copied some doodling designs from the cards directly onto the base of my Layout in the corners with Black Pen.  I was tempted to do more, a few more swirly strands stretching out more down the sides of the paper.  I will see how it sits with me and can always add more later on if I feel like it.

You can see from these two Layouts how the Chalk It Up Scrapbooking Program really does provide everything you need to make your own School Album.  This is the contents of the kit:

The Monday Message

Happy Monday to you!

My Aunt sent me this photo when she was visiting my Mum and Dad a few weeks ago.  There is a real story behind it.  This is a photo of my Grandma's first car.  It is still on my Mum and Dad's farm today.  My Grandma did not learn to drive until my Mum (her third child) was in High School (so probably late 1960s). Her brother bought her this car and Mum says Grandma was so proud of it!

I can only imagine my Grandma driving this ute down their tree-lined drive way and on the road into town.  It makes me smile.  Imagine the freedom she then had, her own car and licence.  I bet she would have smiled the whole way into town, her heart bursting with joy! Do you know the feeling I can imagine...an escape from everything, the possibility of amazing things!

I hope you have a fantastic day today!

I LOVE how everything matches so beautifully.  The colours are so co-ordinated and the cards are very well designed.  They make putting these Layouts together very quick and very easy.
