Mad For Markers ~ DT ~ YR, RV, BG Colour Challenge

Hi Blogging Beauties,

There is a new challenge over at Mad for Markers and it's a colour challenge.
This is going to help us all learn our Copic colours I think!
For this challenge you have to use the colours YR, RV and BG in your creation.

I coloured in this Magnolia horse.  It started off being for a baby card, but it all got a bit too bright so I have changed it to a 3-year-old b'day card I need instead.  I will have another go at the baby card later!

I used these colours:

YR23, YR61, YR68
BG10, BG15, BG05
RV02, RV04, RV13, RV23

I have a busy week coming up this week...
I hope you have a lovely one planned with lots of crafting included!

Happy Colouring : )

P.S Stay tuned for more candy later this week.

5 Christmas Cards

Hi Blogging Beauties,

A lady asked me to make a "Kid's Christmas Card" for her...I didn't have any in my stash so I set about building it up with what I hope are "kid's Christmas cards."
I made five Christmas cards to go in Cheryl's Christmas Card Challenge.  Cheryl is getting ready for Christmas already...and she is motivating us to do the same! You have to make five Chrissie cards and link them up to her blog to be in the running for a stamp.  I love the challenge of making multiple cards so I had to play along.  Here are my cards:

I followed the sketch from Sketch and Stash to make all my five cards.  Each card differs slightly from the sketch...but this was what I was trying to emulate.

I used this cute little image I found at Craft Scope.  I thought I would include a little pic in case you wanted to have a play.  I added google eyes and buttons and only had to colour in the hat and do  an outline and he was done.  Quick and easy!

I used Basic Grey papers from the Jovial Collection...and I must say that I love them!  I have the whole set and there are so many lovely ones to choose from.  I inked the edges of everything with Vintage Photo ink to add to the distressed look the papers already have.

We have family that live in Japan.  Thankfully they have been safe from the earthquake and the Tsunami.  However they have decided to leave Tokyo for now while the Nuclear Power Station  is getting sorted.  Plus they said there is very little food supplies in Tokyo, few options for transport and they arent expected to go to work.  For such an organised city, it does sound like there is chaos over there at the moment.  It makes it very real when you hear people you know evacuating.  I pray that they get that Power Station fixed up very soon.  There has been so much trauma over there...they must be feeling in such a state of shock.  My auntie was in hospital at the time of the earthquake and it was a new high-rise built specially for earthquakes and she said the whole building was swaying.  How scary!  I pray also, that our world gets sorted out and these natural disasters subside and life becomes peaceful again.

Thanks for popping on over to my blog today.
Check out my candy here before you go.

Mad For Markers ~ DT ~ I Love you Cowboy, Thank you for the Ride

Hi Blogging Beauties,

I have a cowboy card today.
I dont know if you have ever heard of the song
"Thank the Cowboy for the Ride" by Chris LeDoux?
I like this song. It kept going around and around in my head while I made this card.
I think this card would be perfect for a cowboy.

I couldn't find that song on utube (sung by Chris).
But I did find another song by an Aussie Country Music singer - Lee Kernaghan.

Unfortunately though (as far as I am aware and I may be proven wrong on this) Lee doesn't live in the bush anymore, he lives in Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast and there is even a street named after him. He used to live there when we were on the Goldie, so unless he has moved I think he is still there. I have this fantasy of Country Music singers really being "proper" bush cowboys, but maybe it is too hard to be a recorded artist and live the authentic bush life they sing about....(I also dont know that the girls out west dress like the girls in this clip...sun protection would be more of a priority I would have thought LOL!)

You might want to have a listen...

The image is from Meljen's Designs and I coloured it with the following colours:

E47, E37, E35, E33, E31
Outline W-1

You still have eleven days left to enter our Mad for Marker's Brown, Male cards Challenge.
Not many entries at this stage so the chance of winning the stamp prize is looking pretty good!

Thanks for looking at my card.
