Magnolia Easel Card

I have finally made my first easel card....I admit to be being a bit behind everyone else in the blogging world... But this card needed to be extra special. It is for my cousin Monica and it is her 21st Birthday Party today. This card is going with a family gift.
I used these gorgeous DPs from the Kimberly Poloson range. I just love them! I followed the sketch from Magnolia Down Under Challenges. You may need to put your creative glasses on to see how I followed the sketch...it changed and developed as I made the card. But I did honestly have the sketch in front of me as I made the card and it was my inspiration and guide.
I used all Magnolia and SU stamps. The cardstock was Elegant Eggplant. I coloured with inkpads and aqua painter using varying shades of purple/mauve and Old Olive. I used Kindy-glitz on the key but sadly it did not sparkle much in the photo.
I would like to enter the following three challenges:
Roses on Paper - Punch it
Cute Card Thursday - Dimensions
I hope you are having a relaxing Saturday,

Forever Friends Birthday Card

Yesterday I received some stamped images in the mail and some of these were Forever Friends Bears. I have been dying to get my hands on some of these images because I think they are just adorable. This is my first Forever Friends card...but definately not my last.

I have to appologise for the very ordinary photo above. I was in a rush this morning - trying to take a photo before I posted the card. I really didn't realise the photo was so bad!

I am entering this card in the Forever Friends Challenge and I followed their sketch. I coloured the image with Chocolate Chip ink and my aqua painter. It was much easier to colour than the detailed Magnolia images. I have ordered some Creamy Caramel ink and Close to Cocoa ink so when they arrive I will be able to have fun blending the browns and giving the bear's fur more depth.
I am also entering this card in the follwing challenges:
Frosted Designs - Think Spring
Allsorts Challenge - Spring is in the Air
Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog - Spring is in the Air
I hope you had a fun-filled Tuesday. Thank you so much for visiting my blog.

Bright and Cheery

Good afternoon,
I hope your Monday has been fun and productive. I feel like I am always chasing time...the days and nights seem to fly by and I am always left trying to fit in too much! Today I made a card for one of my very best friends. I used this Penny Black image and followed the sketch from Penny Black Saturday Challenge.
I coloured with ink pads and aqua painter, and used SU DPs and lace and flowers from my stash. I am also entering the "Lovely Lace" Challenge from My Time to Craft. Because this card has a "Spring feel" to it, with its bright colours, flowers, insects and animals I am also entering it in the following challenges:
Frosted designs - Think Spring
AllSorts Challenge - Spring is in the Air
Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog - Spring is in the Air
Thanks for visiting my blog today,
Take care

Going to the Chapel and we're Going to get Married...

Good afternoon fellow blogging buddies. This is a card I made last night for my sister. She is the Matron of Honour in a wedding today and one of her little girls is a flower girl. She asked me to make her a card yesterday, so I had to quickly whip this one up. I used the colours Chocolate Chip, Barely Banana and Regal Rose. The DP and heart stickers and sentiment are from a SU scapbooking kit. The digi-image I won from a Bee Crafty competition. The love stamp is SU that I borrowed from a friend.
I distressed the edges and so am entering in the challenge "Distressed Somethings" from Stamp Something. I hope you are having a lovely Saturday afternoon. Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Jo's Card

This card is for my friend Jo who lives on the Gold Coast. It was her birthday this week. She has only recently had her second baby and it is a little boy, so the next card I will make her will be a baby card. I followed the sketch from Stamp With Fun. I was looking for a more complicated sketch today and the current challenge was perfect. I used this gorgeous Tilda for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge "Happy Birthday" for their 1st Birthday Celebration. I went on their celebratory blog-hop and was inspired by the gorgeous cards and some of the yummiest candy I have seen in awhile! Do pop over and check them out, you wont be disappointed.

The DPs I used are from the Kaiser Craft Prairie Lane Collection. I just love them and I purchased these papers some time ago and have been saving them for a special project. I coloured Tilda with SU ink pads, markers and aqua painter. The flowers are from my dwindling stash that needs replenishing super fast! The sentiment is from my overused SU "Oval All"collection.

My last day of the weekend today before I go to work tomorrow. It has been a busy and productive weekend. On Saturday Mum and I planted plants in our huge garden out the front of our house (this took 7 hours). On Sunday we had a family lunch at our place and we sat out under the trees which was lovely and cool.
On Monday I had an interview in town to give me my approval to teach in NSW Public schools, and today Dad came and spread the dirt where we are growing our new lawn and prepared the bonfire for my 30th birthday coming up. So lots has been happening. I hope you are having a productive and happy week. Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.

Genevieve's Card

This card is for my cousin Genevieve. She is studying Medicine at University and it was her birthday yesterday. I went for Autumn tones seeing we are coming into Autumn in Australia. The papers are Basic Grey and SU. I used ink pads and aqua painter to colour. I tried to make her dress two-tone red and orange and blend the colours. I distressed and stitched the edges. The sentiment is from SU and the flowers and ribbons from my stash.

I followed the recipe at Magnolia Down Under 3 papers, 3 flowers, 2 buttons and a bow and I followed the sketch from Stamp with Us. I can also enter the challenge "Sew Simple" at One Stop Craft Challenge.

I have had a good week this week, and am finding my feet with my new job which leaves me a bit of time to post this card. I look forward to more crafting time! I hope you are finding the time to relax and craft.

Thanks for visiting me today, and take care.

Male Card

This card is for our friend Ben Waisavu. He is a great mate of my husband's and we have all known each other since uni and shared some wild times together. He is currently single and always seems to be in search of "the perfect girl". I thought this digi image of "Heidi" from Victoria Case might inspire him and be the perfect birthday card!

I stitched around the edges of the DCWV papers, added some buttons, leaves and punched out a SU sentiment. I coloured Heidi with ink pads, water pen and SU markers. I put crystal effects on the mugs of beer and glitter for the froth.

I thought I would enter this card in the following challenges:

Die Cut Creams - No Flowers Allowed!

Quixotic Challenges - Leave it Out (Black leaves across middle of card)

Colour Create - Read, Black and Off White

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Acceptance Card

Goodmorning Blogging Buddies, I am happy to say I have a whole day allocated to staying home and crafting and doing whatever I want! Yippee! I am so excited. I made this card a few days back. My sister asked me if I would make her a little acceptance card for a wedding she is going to. I used a Digi Stamp I won at Christmas time from Bee Crafty. This is its debut. I used Kindy-Glitz on the wedding dress and coloured in with SU markers. The card stock is Rose Red and Regal Rose. Ribbon, flower and pearl from my stash. I am entering this simple little card in the Dare you to Digi Stamp Pearls Challenge.

Enjoy your day. I hope to be back soon with another post : )

A card for Bob

Uncle Bob had a birthday last week and I am only just getting around to making him a card tonight. He loves cows and so I used this digi-image from the Down on the Farm collection. It was a little plain and boring so I added a border of buttons around to give the card something a bit special and different.

I followed the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday and am also entering the challenge "One for the boys" by Quixotic Challenges.

Life has been very busy for me at the moment which is why I have only posted once again this week. I thought working part-time would free me up to have lots of spare time for crafting, but, I am finding so many other things filling up my time. Our gardens where we live now need lots of work as they haven't been maintained by the people who previously lived here. So I have been trying to work on them one by one, pulling out weeds and planting new plants.

Also last weekend we went and watched Whitney sing in the Hunter Valley. We had a lovely weekend catching up with friends...and when we arrived home there was loads of washing and housework to be done.

Last week we got our new little chickies. They are very cute. We have been keeping them in our bathroom under the heat lamp. This photo is when they are only a few days old.

I hope your life is going smoothly, and you arent too run off your feet...hopefully I will make more time for crafting this week and have more posts to share with you.

Until then,

Take Care
