A Clean, Simple and Cheery Card

Good morning!

Happy Tuesday to you all!

Do you like honey? Our family LOVES it.  My uncle is a bee keeper and gives us the best, yummiest honey ever!!

I am sharing a Clean, Simple and Cheery card today I made to give to my Aunt and Uncle to remind them how much we appreciate their honey.

This card was quick and easy to make.  Here's how I did it:
  1. I added the sentiment and clip art picture in Microsoft word and printed it out onto A4 white card stock.
  2. I coloured the image with Copic Markers: Y38, Y17, YR16, E49, E35, E57, E37.
  3. I drew some little dots on the card showing where the bees have flown around with a black pen.
  4. I added Kindy Glitz to the honey
  5. I tied a big, bright, yellow bow.

I must say I am lending towards clean and simple cards at the moment.  I am appreciating more white space. Do you like the clean and simple look?

Just for fun I am linking up at Less is More
There are some gorgeous Clean and Simple cards over there if you want to take a look.

Before you go though, have you considered entering my Gratitude Link Up?  Are you a bit like me and like to practice Gratitude?

Simple Scrapbooking with Multiple Photos - Fast and Easy

Hello Friends,

I hope you are having a beautiful week! The sun is shining here on the Gold Coast today which always makes me smile : )

Do you have a little group of photos from a special event? A birthday, happy memory, Mother's Day??? I had these cute little photos.  Ben took them in sequence when I opened my Mother's Day present from Nicky.  These little photos warm my heart and I wanted them to have a special page in my Project Life Album.  But I wanted something quick and easy...this is what I came up with...

How I made the Layout
1. I chose four matching papers
2. I chose four photos
3. I layered the photos onto 3x4 cards (2 per photo).
4. I chose to add doilies to two of the layered photos.
5. I added a couple of embellishments and a hand-written title.
6. I drew on borders with a white gel pen.

Thats it!!
I did this beside the TV with Nicholas watching me do it.  It was easy and quick! I slipped it in to my Project Life Album as a feature page to celebrate Mother's Day.

The products I used are:
  • Dreamy Paper Pad 6x6 Heidi Swapp
  • Project Life 3x4 cards but I cant remember exactly what kit they come from.
  • Heidi Swapp Hello Today Flair Embellishments
  • Heidi Swapp Dreamy Ephemera
  • Heidi Swapp Happy Chipboard stickers.
Thanks for visiting my blog,

Exciting Crafty News

Hello!

Last night we went to Ben's work's End Of Financial Year Ball at Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast.

I had a quite a day of pampering really.  I had my hair and make-up done which was a real treat. It was a beautiful night, lovely food and we stayed the night at the Hotel - so really living it up.

Nicky was babysat in our Hotel room by two lovely friends of ours, so I could relax and enjoy the night.

I also have some exciting news to share today!

I have been accepted to be part of a new Design Team!! Jessica over at Craftin' and Stampin' has accepted my application and I begin in August!! Jessica sells Close to My Heart Products and she advertised for people to use her products and make crafty things for her business.

That sounded really exciting to me because I love to work with new products - who doesnt?!

The Gratitude Link-Up

Hello!

Welcome to a new idea I am trying on my blog...I have called it the "Gratitude Link-Up." Expressing Gratitude is one sure fire way to make you feel really happy and attract lots of goodness into your life. The more you do it (express gratitude) the better you feel.

If you would like to participate in this feel-good link-up you need to do four simple things:
  1. Take a photo of something you are really grateful for.  It could be something small or big...whatever you like.   (You may already have a photo you can use.)
  2. Post the photo on your blog with a few words to express your gratitude.
  3. Link your post to the link-up below.  Please include a link to my blogpost so other people may join in the fun.
  4. Leave a comment for someone else - this will make them smile : )
Thats it! Easy, fun and one small way we can make gratitude waves around the world.  I would love you to participate.

Here's my entry:

Nicky was giving me these beautiful big long hugs the other night and I asked Ben to take a photo because I wanted to capture the moment and remember it forever.
I am sooo grateful for the yummy hugs this gorgeous little boy gives.
He makes our lives so meaningful.  We are forever grateful for him.

Now its your turn!
Link up in the comments below and thanks for playing.

My Latest Publication

Hello!

I have a set of Ten Quick Cards to share today. These cards were published in Australian Cardmaking Stamping and Papercraft Magazine Volume 20 Number 9. This magazine was on sale last month, but I actually made these cards about a year ago. They came together very quickly and easily using Kaisercraft Lavender Haze paper pad and matching collectables and a bit of lace from my stash.  I remember making them in the car while Nicky was having a sleep. I LOVE making sets of cards. Gone are the days where I sit down to make one card.  I much prefer to make a set of them now. But I have to be inspired by products and a purpose.  I am always on the look out for yummy products to catch my eye.

Have you noticed on my blog that I now have a Publications Page? I finally went through and photographed all the sets of cards I have had published from the magazines and set them up here.  Many of them have never been blogged before so it is worth a look!

I am trying something new and exciting on my blog tomorrow, so pop back then and join in the fun!

Happy Friday,
Alicia xx

The Monday Message

Good morning, and happy Monday!

During my busy week last week with my Mum, Sister and her three kids staying with us for a holiday I was thinking about enjoying the moments.

We had so many lovely special moments together with our children playing and enjoying new experiences.  This photo of them on the beach was one of them.

I got to thinking, each moment is a precious gift and things will never be exactly the same as they are right now, so enjoy it! Often when I see a special moment I like to take a photo.  Because once that moment has gone, the photo turns it into a special memory.

So my quote for this week is about taking a breath and enjoying the moment.  Then consider snapping a photo and preserving a feeling or emotion as a memory.

I hope you have a beautiful week.

A little bit of Project Life

Hello,

I hope you are having a beautiful and sunshiney day today!
I have a bit of Project Life to share today.

I put this double layout together of some cherished photos from back in 2007.
A weekend trip home for my Nan's 80th birthday. (My Nan has now passed away.)
It was a sentimental weekend for me.
I remember being a bit home sick and missing all my family
and so treasuring the moments I got to have with them.
I love the way a photo helps you remember your feelings and thoughts at the time it was taken.

I am going to aim to share a Project Life spread here on the blog regularly from now on!!
The cards are from Maggie Holmes Flea Market Mini Kit.  Embellishments are Heidi Swapp.

Happy Friday!
