Create a Scene Challenge at Mad for Markers

Hi Blogging Beauties,

Before I get onto my card I just wanted to appologise for being such a bad blogger lately.  I have lots of comments from lovely people that I have read, but havent published yet because I wanted to return the favour and leave you a comment too.  I hope to get to those tomorrow.  Life has been busy and everything seems to be getting left to the extreme last minute including my posts this week!  I hope to turn over a new leaf next week and get right back on top of everything.  So thanks for being patient with me.


Over at Mad for Markers the entries for Ashlee's "Create a Scene" challenge are looking amazing and so are the inspiration from the DT!  I picked a Magnolia image for my card and I have always wanted to try a cloud background.  I visited youtube and came across this great video by Annika Ryan which I watched and tried to emulate.  I didnt have the same colours as her so I used what I had.  Then I watched a tutorial by Melyssa Connolly on how to colour grass and gave that a go too.  I have included links to the videos in case you want to check them out yourself.

The Copics I have used on my card are:

Reds: R53, R46, R59

Yellows: Y15, Y17, Y38, Y02

Hair: E35, E57, E37, E31

Skin: E11, E51, E02, R20

Sky: B93, B32. BG000, C-0, C-1

Grass: YG67, G99, GY63, YG03

Warm Greys: W-1, W-3, W-5, W-7

Since the image is so large, and the focus,  I kept the rest of the card fairly simple.

Mad for Markers ~ DT ~ Colouring with Greys

Hi Blogging Beauties

This is my DT card for the current Mad for Marker's Challenge: 

Colouring with Greys.  

If you need to purchase some grey Copics I recommend you head on over to Sammi at Mad for Markers and go shopping!  I get all my Copic supplies from Sammi and she is wonderful to deal with.  While you are there check out the yummy new stamps she has in stock as well!!

I had a really enjoyable time making this card.  It was a special order for a lady who wanted a birthday card for her friend of hers who loves cooking.  This is my first time at every colouring a whole image in grey...well I added a couple of colours as well.  I was trying to go for a Sepia look like the photographs that also have little bits hand painted colour in them...do you know the ones I mean.  The really old photos.  I know my Mum has some really old ones with hand painted colours on them.

In my collection of Copics I have the warm greys and the cool greys so I went with the warm greys in this card.  The colours I used are:

Greys: W-1, W-3, W-5, W-7

Other colours: R20, E35, E33, E31, R29, R59

This was a really fun challenge!

I made a very girly card for this challenge!  It is a birthday card for my brother's girlfriend Renae.  I love her to bits, she is the sweetest girl in the world.

Mad for Markers ~ DT

Goodmorning Blogging Beauties,

Over at Mad for Marker's challenges have now changed to fortnightly.

This week's challenge is to colour with greys.

I havent got a grey card to show you yet...cant wait to make one though...but today I have a Magnolia card I made as a special order for one of the TAFE ladies.

This has got to be one of my most fave Maggies ever and I have been using her a lot lately.

I used Copics to colour her up and these are the colours:

Skin: E00, E21, R20

Hair: E47, E57, E33, E31

Blues: BG01, BG00

Purples: V15, V17, BV08

Outline: C-1 (One grey in there!!)

The lady I made it for really liked it so that is good!!

I have finished my housework this morning and am off to town to do jobs.

Dropping in here and there, buying mother's day presents, visiting my Grandparents, picking up some vitamins.

I have so many cards that need to be made...lots of special orders to make.

I have downloaded more scrapbooking kits and am itching to have a play with them.  But three days works starting tomorrow...have to make some real money!!  Pay for all those mini holidays I keep booking on Wotif!!  Does anyone else get those emails about the 6 hour deals??  They are soooo tempting.  And such good value!!! If you dont, you should sign up to their emails...it is a great motivation to get away for a few days.

Paper Play DT ~ Use an object not intended for crafting!

Today is Thursday and that means Paper Play Day!

This week's challenge is "Use an object not intended for crafting" - like coins, cans/jars, shells, cardboard box bits etc..... and is set by DT member - Karen.  So let's get creative and have fun!

I used a cake box we received as a gift when we attended a wedding in Japan.

It was originally yellow.  I painted it pink inside and out...coloured my image, added some lace, ribbon and a doily and it was finished.  

It is fairly plain.  I tried adding flowers, but they all seemed too big.  

So of course I can give it the clean and simple label!

This is probably my favourite Magnolia stamp at the moment and I coloured her with Copics:

Skin: E21, E00, R20

Hair: E47, E57, E35, E31

Pinks: RV06, RV04. RV02

Mad For Markers ~ DT ~ YR, RV, BG Colour Challenge and Candy!!

Hello Blogging beauties,

Its is my turn to share a card for the current Copic Colour Challenge at Mad for Markers.

This card I was asked to make for a little girl who lives on the Gold Coast.  She is turning five and loves beachy things...so I used my Magnolia Mermaid.  This is my first time at ever colouring this image...even though I have had it for ages and ages!  I added heaps of glitter because little girls like glitter! Here is a picture taken in the sun to try and show you all the glitter.

I used the following Copic makers:

Skin: E21, E00, R20

Hair: YR20, YR61, YR23, YR68, YR16

Pinks: RV06, RV04, RV02

Blues: BG23, BG10, BG000

By the way...have you seen this??  Sammi is preparing a very special magazine and is looking for  Submissions.  She is looking for creations using Copics .. from beginners to advanced colourers!

This first issue she is particularly looking for:
- creations using Copic coloured digi images
- pictures of your Copic storage solutions
- Scrapbooking projects incorporating Copics.
