Kaisercraft Rose Avenue Double Layout Class

Hello Crafty Friends,

Ann Mealin from Queensland Scrapbooking Retreats asked me to teach a class at her Mount Tamborine Weekend.  I prepared a Layout using Kaisercraft's Rose Avenue Collection.  This was the first Layout I made - a Double Page Multi-Photo Layout.  I made this with my friend's photos as a gift birthday for her.  This Layout is glued down the middle and made for a frame, not to be cut-up and placed in an album.  

After some thought I realised most people at the class may prefer to have a split down the middle of the Layout so they can fit it in an album so I made another layout with four photos.

With this Layout you could really use a variety of sized photographs.  

I kept the ladies very busy during this three hour class.  There was lots of fussy cutting, die cutting and using texture paste with a stencil.  Some of the ladies hadn't used texture paste before so that was a new technique.  I think some were new to fussy cutting as well.  It was such a fun time up at Mount Tamborine...it was a rainy day and just perfect for crafting.  I made some lovely new friends and was lucky to catch up with some old friends as well.
On another note...I'm thinking of a name change for my Blog.  It seems "Time to Create" is in use elsewhere.  I would love some suggestions if you have any...

Kaisercraft Rose Avenue Mini Album

Do you ever have a few memorable photos that you think deserve a special Album? Do you ever create or decorate Mini Albums? Mini Albums are perfect for showcasing little collections of photographs.  Today I am sharing how to make a Small Polaroid Mini Album for four photos using Kaisercraft's Rose Avenue Collection.  I filmed the process for making this Album so you can see exactly how it came together.

Being a Mum of two precious boys I don't have a lot of pink girly photographs in my personal collection or a lot of pink girly things in my home.  Even though I am a girly-girl at heart, most of my photos have blue-t-shirts, caps, balls and boys toys in them.  Luckily I do have friends that have little girls and I do happen to have some friends that are very talented at hosting amazing birthday parties.
When one of my friend's said her little girl's first birthday party was going to be a ballerina theme I did get a little bit excited.  Especially as this particular friend is an amazing cook as well and I certainly wasn't disappointed! The party was gorgeous and the food just blew me away.  My friend hand-made everything (including the cake) and I took lots of photographs on the day of all the lovely pink, ballerina food.  All of this meant that I had a collection of yummy pink party food photographs and I thought they deserved a special place in a Mini Album.

Rose Avenue Collection

The Rose Avenue Collection is perfect for scrapping those girly-girl photos.  It is filled with Shabby Chic gorgeousness - roses, butterflies and lots of pretty pastel colours.  For this Mini Album I chose to use Kaisercraft's Small Polaroid Album.  It is just the right design for whipping up a quick Mini Album to showcase four special photographs.  I used one 12x12 Paper for this project and one page from the Paper Pad.

How I made the Album

To begin with I inked the chipboard album in Pink ink.  Then I used paint and texture paste to paint over the top of the pink ink through this template to create a textured pattern on the chipboard album.I'm a big fan of swirls and flourishes...there is something that I love about them...and this new Template from Kaisercraft SWIRL FLOURISH is just divine.


I adhered my photographs onto 12x12 Paper WOOD PANELS and then it was just a simple matter of gluing the photo and the frame together.

Once the pages of the Album were assembled I was up to the decorating part.  I used a variety of Mini Paper Blooms, Fussy-cut Roses, Wooden Flourishes, Flourish Die Cuts and Cheese Cloth scraps to decorate each page.  Here is the Process Video that shows exactly how I made the Album:

Kaisercraft Rose Avenue Layouts

The task over at Kaisercraft today was to create a Shabby Chic Layout with Rose Avenue.  This should have been an easy task for me but I have to be honest and say I struggled.  I have no idea why...it just didnt come easily.

This was the second layout I created with a photo from my Mum's garden.  She has a beautiful garden and this was a photo Ben took a few years ago.

Kaisercraft Mint Wishes Layout with Instructions

Hello Crafty Friends,
The October Collections for Kaisercraft are just delicious! This is a Layout I have made using Mint Wishes.  I scrapbooked a cute little photo of my niece from nearly ten years ago! How time flies.


In case you would like to re-create the Layout I have included instructions...It is a nice easy one to make.

Instructions:

Adhere PS502 GINGERBREAD COOKIE DIE CUT to center of P2401 CABIN  (Reverse). 

Cut P2404 SHIVER into a variety of rectangles.  Position these as layers horizontally and vertically onto base page of Layout. 

Cut Gingham paper from Paper Pad to mount photo on top of.  Secure with mounting tape in centre of layers.

Fussy cut a small cluster of flowers from P2397 FROSTED and add to top of the layers.  Add some collectables into the mix of layers along with a tag from back of the Paper Pad with a bow tied in organza ribbon.  Decorate with a Coconut Paper Bloom.

Ink “trees” and “Merry Christmas” wooden flourishes with Island Ink and add to page.  Embellish with Ice Green Pearls.
