Kaisercraft Fly Free Layout

Alicia McNamara

Hello,
Today I am sharing my layout that is featured over on the Kaisercraft Blog.
The challenge was to use one or two of the specialty papers from the Fly Free Collection.
The papers are:

PS418 Die Cut Friendship

PS419 Gloss Bond

I actually managed to use bits of both in my Layout.  I used a corner of PS418 at the top of my photo and cut a butterfly from PS419.  There is so much you could do with these lovely lovely papers! Make sure you check out the girls at Kaisercraft to see all of the amazing creations with this collection.

The paper I used for the background of my layout is so pretty.  It was too perfect not to use.  It meant that this layout was quite quick and easy to put together.  I simply layered bits and pieces under the photo to add some dimension.  I added those cute little Epoxy sticker hearts and doodled here and there.

The sentiment "Let your dreams take flight" seemed appropriate to me for this photo.  A lot of our loved ones are pictured here. All young, mostly unmarried and fancy free.  Fast forward 13 years and all of these young people (including Ben and myself) have lived out many dreams and still have many more to create.  Soul mates have been found, babies have been born, countries have been visited and many adventures have been had...so its nice to look back on this moment captured and remember this time.

I wanted to add a little more texture to the layout so I folded and stitched a strip of paper onto the bottom of the photo.  I also added some lace.  The flower was from the Collectables.

Kaisercraft ~ Quick and Easy Cards using July Collections - Part Three Botanica

Alicia McNamara

Hello,
Today I am sharing my third and final set of cards using the July Collections by Kaisercraft.
Botanica
You can read Part One and Part Two here.
This time I'm using the Botanica Collection.  If I had to choose a favourite from this month’s collections, I really don’t think I could.  They are all so beautiful and so easy to use!   For this set of cards I started with P1880 Habitat 12x 12 Paper.

I love it when Kaisercraft makes these little 3×4 pictures because they are so perfect for a quick and easy collection of cards.  These little botanical illustrations have such a natural feel to them I thought I would coordinate them with a CB 155 Kraft card stock base.
I designed a little card sketch featuring the Botanical illustrations.  I chose five pictures and matched them with a background page from the PP973 Botanical 6 1/2 inch Paper Pad.

I layered  EM 405 Paper Doilies underneath each picture.  A tip is to cut your doily in half, then your doilies can be stretched a little further, which is handy if you love them as much as I do and use them often.
Alicia McNamara
I also layered tags from the EM429 Just For You Tag Pack.  I love the texture the string adds to the card and the natural colour really works in with the theme of this little card set.
Alicia McNamara
I chose some sentiment stickers from ST922 Clear Stickers – Happy Birthday and ST926 Clear Stickers – Friends.  I adhered these stickers to white card and then layered the white card onto Kraft card.  These sentiment stickers are a fantastic way to go as an alternative to stamping your sentiment.

I used CS223 Clear Stamp- Botanica to stamp some leaves onto Kraft card using white ink.

Then I teamed the leaves with some Mini Paper Blooms in five colours: F659 Misty, F645 Honey, F658 Dusty Pink, F651 Sunset and F650 Olive.

Kaisercraft ~ Quick and Easy Cards using July Collections - Part Two - "Fly Free"

Alicia McNamara

Hello,
Thanks for stopping by : )
Today I am sharing Part Two of my Quick and Easy Kaisercraft Cards using The July Collections.
You can read Part One here.
Today is all about the "Fly Free" Collection...

The beautiful “Fly Free” paper collection is full of vibrant colours, butterflies, birds, flowers and positive quotes.  Perfect for making some lovely cards to send to friends and family!
I really love to make sets of cards.  Once you have a design sorted I think its great to make a few cards in the same design, that way you always have a card on hand when you need it and it builds up your card stash.  I decided on a simple sketch for this set of cards with lots of white space, a strip of colour down the side of the card and a cluster of Collectables behind the sentiment with a few little butterflies and rhinestones to embellish.
Sketch-#2
To make this little set of cards you need P1896 – Confidante.  There is so much potential with this 12×12 Card Panel.  I only utilised the four rectangles down the bottom of the page.  One rectangle just has a picture (no sentiment) so I used CS225 Clear Stamp – Fly Free to add a “You make me smile” sentiment.
P1896
If you purchase two of these papers you can cut and layer the sentiments with mounting tape to add some dimension to your card.
Alicia McNamara
I chose four papers from the PP975 Fly Free 6 1/2 inch Paper Pad to make a strip down the right hand side of each card.  Then I drew a border around each card with a black felt-tip pen.
Alicia McNamara
I chose some some flowers from the CT833 Fly Free Collectables to slip behind the sentiment.  The collectables in this range are just stunning!  So easy to add to a card.  I think I need another five packets lol! There are so many card possibilities with this collection.  I have only just touched the surface with these four simple cards.
Alicia McNamara
I fussy cut some butterflies from the paper pad and added some SB777 Black Rhinestones to embellish a little.
Alicia McNamara
Four very simple, but pretty cards that are so easy and quick to put together and could be sent out for a variety of occasions.

Kaisercraft Little One Modern Baby Layout

Alicia McNamara

Hello,

This sweet little baby is the daughter of one of our very good friends.
Her name is Paige and here she is just three weeks old.
What a little picture of perfection, all snuggled up and asleep.
I really wanted to scrap this gorgeous photo with the new Kaisercraft "Little One" Collection.

Alicia McNamaraI am really liking white space on my layouts, so I put lots of that in and I kept the sketch very simple.  Simple seems to work lots better for me with Layouts (and cards!).

These are the Kaisercraft Materials I used:

CD101 12x12 Weave - Coconut

CT832 Collectables - Little One

PP974 Paper Pad - Little One

P1885 Ruby

P1883 Zoe

EM926 Lace Pack - White

ST912 Epoxy Stickers - Candy

EM405 Paper Doilies

This collection is so much to play with.
