30th Birthday Celebrations

On Friday night we had my 30th Birthday Party. The night was a great success. We had a bonfire, a spit (roasted lamb, potatoes and pumpkin on circulating cooking machine for anyone who doesnt know), a karaoke machine and lots of people! I promised to show some photos of the night. The "Tarts on Tour" (teachers from my old school on the Gold Coast) came and had a wild time. They made t-shirts for the occasion and we had photos in front of the Big Golden Guitar in Tamworth. The t-shirt has my head stuck on a cartoon cowgirl sitting on a fence.
It was a weekend full of many laughs and excitement. I haven't seen my friends since January when we moved so it was lovely to catch up with them all. There was about 50 people at the party and the Karaoke machine got a bit of a work out. Below is a picture of the bonfire and we toasted marshmallows right at the end of the night.

Its not my real birthday till the 15th...but I have had enough birthday celebrations to last me a good year! I hope you enjoyed looking at the photos.

Baby Boy Card

Good evening fellow blogging buddies,

I have a baby card to share with you tonight. This is for a new baby boy named Cole Marcus. He is about a month old now I think and I am only just getting around to organising a card and present for him.

I used a Forever Friend stamp and coloured him in with Ballet Blue ink and my aqua painter. I wanted to have a go at one of those try-fold cards...and I quite liked it...I kept the card pretty simple.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Colour Create - Your Choice of Pastels

Stampin For the Weekend - Ribbons and Bows

The Craft Garden - Pastels

The Play Date Cafe - Blue

A Spoon Full of Sugar - One for the Boys

I am a bit excited because nine of my teaching friends from the Gold Coast are coming to my 30th party on Friday night. Some arrived today and the rest are arriving tomorrow. They are extrememly excited and have nicknamed themselves "Tarts on Tour" (hope that doesn't offend anybody reading). Their posts on facebook are very funny. Because they are coming to Tamworth they want to get photos with the Golden Guitar and they have all got special t-shirts printed to wear with flannellette shirts. No kids or hubbies have been included in their road trip so they are revelling in their weekend of freedom. I promise to post photos after the event for you to giggle at....

Thanks for visiting today.

Happy Birthday to a special sister...

It is my sister's birthday tomorrow and she makes my life so much more fun and exciting. She has such a positive nature. I wanted to make her a beautiful birthday card to go with her present. Her favourite colour is purple so when I saw the challenge over at Magnolia Stamp Lovers was to use the colour purple, I thought perfect! I also followed the sketch from Pretty in Ink to create this card.
I used DP from the Kimberley Poloson range (which I am in love with), purple ric-rac, lace, ribbon, pearls, prima flowers and butterflies all from my stash. The swirl stamp and sentiment is SU. I coloured with ink pads and aqua painter and added kindy glitz.

This week I am busy preparing for my 30th party which will be Friday night. I have lots to organise. I am going into town today to do the first grocery shop. I am feeling so tired though because we went and saw a late movie last night and I am not sleeping well at the moment...I think once I get some of these jobs out of the way my mind will be able to rest better.

I hope you have had a lovely Easter and I thank you for coming and visiting my blog and leaving such encouraging comments.

Easter Card #1

This card was made using a Penny Black bunny image and a CC Designs background fence stamp. Card stock is SU Orchid Opulence and the pink and green DP is from my stash. Behind the fence is a thick striped ribbon also from my stash. Kindy Glitz was used to accentuate the flowers and butterfly.

Easter Card #2

This card has a bunny with attitude and so is going to my brother for Easter. The Penny Black bunny is standing on top of a CC Designs wheelbarrow. I just love his expression! SU Card stock is Orchid Opuence and Barely Banana, the DP I have had for ages and dont recall its name. Prima flower and rose from All that Scraps. The green tartan ribbon and lace is from my stash.
I would like to enter this card in the Penny Black - Check it out challenge.
