Wedding/Engagement/Love Cards

Hi Blogging Beauties,

Happy Sunday to you!
I have been making some wedding and engagement and love cards over the last couple of days. My sister and I needed some of these as we have a few engagement/weddings happening at the moment.

Some of these cards are also for sale at Aussie Cards for Sale in the Wedding/Engagement section. There is such a wide variety of cards on this site by 18 different designers. It is worth having a look, even for some inspiration!

Here are the cards:

I used Kaisercraft After Five Collection papers and Bella chipboard.
I am now officially in love with chipboard...cant seem to get enough of it at the moment.

I thought I would enter two challenges:

Allsorts - Love, love, love

I have lots to do today so I better keep going.
Thanks for popping over.

An Award from Kerry to pass on...

Kerry from Kezzam kindly passed this award onto me.

This award however is slightly different from the usual awards you see. This award is to showcase some of the not-so-well-known blogs. We have some talented crafters out there and this is one way for you to find new and interesting blogs. All you have to do is nominate three to five blogs you read and want others to get to know .

If I tag you and you want to participate, create a post where you post the 'LOVE BLOG' image. You should also blog the persons link that gave you the award and inform her/him that you accept the award. You can then choose 3 - 5 favorite blogs which you also link in your post, then each blogger will inform you that they have been tagged.

I would like to showcase another few blogs

Special Note from the Originator:
The aim of this action is that we bring unknown, good blogs to light, so I would ask you not to blog fellow bloggers that already have 3,000 followers.
Choose blogs you think deserve more followers than they have, because they are very talented and make stunning cards...Please pop over and show them some love - honestly I promise you will NOT be disappointed.

Two Quick Cards and an Announcement...

Hi Blogging Beauties,

It is boiling hot today...even with the air con on! They say a cool change is on its way...sounds good to me! Crazy to think on the other side of the world the snow storms and blizzards are extreme! Glad to know you are all keeping safe over there! (Especially you, Carol.)

I have two quick birthday cards I whipped up today for my two cousins Clare and Bek. They both live in sunny Qld so I always try to make them nice, bright cards. I used Kaisercraft Funfair papers - bright and colourful. I decorated the insides as well. The felt flowers I bought at Spotlight they are by American Crafts.

And now for the announcement...

Suzanne asked me awhile back if I would like to be on the Design Team for Let's Ink it Up...and of course I said Yes! My first challenge begins in March...so its a little wait until then. Hop on over and become a follower...this is a very "arty" challenge site...I hope I am up to it!

We are taking my Grandparents to the raffles and dinner at the Leagues Club tonight...air conditioning and a lamb roast...yum yum! Hope you have a lovely weekend planned.
Thanks for visiting!

P.S A big hello to Patsi. Thank you for your lovely comments. Do you have a blog? Your profile is not showing up to me...I have tried to return the favour : )

Paper Play DT - Stamp it Out

Hi Blogging Beauties,

It has been a very long and hot day today and I am finally getting around to posting my DT card tonight for Paper Play.

This week's challenge is "Stamp It Out" - we want you to use your stamps.
Create a card/project using a stamp - rubba', digi etc. the choice is yours.

We are very kindly sponsored by Simon Says Stamp.  The winner will receive a $15 store voucher.

What an easy challenge for you hey!

I used digital, rubber and clear stamps for this card.
Digital: Kenny K "All That" girl, border collie (Google images) and Meljen's Friends Sentiment
Rubber: CC Designs fence
Clear: Sun and cloud in the background.

I coloured the background on some new paper from Mad for Markers called 352gsm Neenah Card Stock.  I really loved the paper...the Copics blended so beautifully on it.  It is nice and thick too...so it was perfect for a large scene on a card.

Lots of Copics used for this card:

Browns - E47, E37, E35, E31 (my fave brown colour combo)
Oranges - YR16, YR07, YR02
Yellows - Y08, Y06, Y11
Greens - G14, YG06, YG23
Blues - B05, BG05, B12, B00, BG10
Greys - C-1, C-3, C-5
Skin - E21, E00, R20

I designed this card with the Kenny K "My Favourite Things" challenge in mind.
I was thinking and thinking about how I could put my favourite things on a card.  Of course card-making is definitely one of my favourite things, but I thought that would be a bit of a cop-out, just to make a card!  So one of my other favourite things to do is to take our dog Ellie for a walk.  This summer I have been going every evening about 6:30 or 7pm when it is finally starting to cool down.  I love it, and so does Ellie! Ben comes as well, but sometimes he runs instead.  So I have created a scene of me and Ellie going for a walk.  I dont look as gorgeous as this Kenny K girl...and I certainly dont wear clothes as trendy as her! On average two cars would pass me on this walk so I dont worry too much about what I look like lol!  Its just us and the cows, sheep or deer in the paddocks next to the road.  If we have had rain, at the end of the road there is a hole that fills up with water like a mini-dam and that becomes Ellie's swimming pool and she has a swim to cool off before we head for home.  But that is nearly all dried up now as we havent had rain for several weeks and things are getting really dry here.  We do have an old bath tub that is used as a stock drinking trough that she hops in when we get home...she loves water!

Well, you are probably sick of me raveling on and on about Ellie...can you tell she is one of my best friends!  Here is a LO I did awhile ago of the two of us (I have blogged this before)
...thanks for reading and have a good night.

P.S I am so grateful that Cyclone Yasi has not killed or injured any Aussies so far.  What an enormous relief.  I also feel so lucky to live in a country that is so supportive of people in need and those that have been affected by natural disasters.  My thanks go to Anna Bligh QLD Premier and all her team who have managed this cyclone with such efficiency.
Thank you to the angels for protecting everyone and keeping them safe.

Two Baby Shower Cards and a Happy Birthday

Hi Blogging Buddies,

Two little Baby Shower cards to share this afternoon.
Made mainly from bits and pieces of a DCWV Baby Stack.

My heart goes out to all those in Northern Queensland today as they prepare for Cyclone Yasi.
My relatives, my blogging friends...stay safe up there...I am praying for you all.
xxxx

Lastly a little card I have recently made. I am making two of these but the other one is half finished and sitting dangerously in the "I will get back to it later" pile!

Thought I might play along with:

Sir Stampalot - All Creatures Great and Small
Paper Playtime - Digi Monday Anything Goes
Cupcake Craft - Old MacDonald had a farm
(deer and sheep - we have both of those animals on our farm)

Thats all for me today, I am off to take my dog Ellie for a walk.

Mad For Markers DT - Crazy Hair

Hi Copic Lovers,

I am so excited about this new challenge here at Mad for Markers...Crazy Hair Colour Combo!
The place to live out your crazy hair fantasies!
I play it pretty safe with my own hair...don't change it around too much...but I admire the people who are brave enough to go a bit crazy with their colours and cuts.  It is great fun to colour some crazy hair combos...wonder what I would look like with black hair with red streaks....

Today I am showing a card I coloured in a few nights ago.
I am LOVING these Kenny K images....am pretty new to them, but they have renewed my love for colouring...the Magnolia's just werent "doing it" for me lately.  These Kenny K's kind of remind me of playing barbies when I was little...dressing them up in crazy clothes and styling their hair.  So I chose to go with the colours Red and Black for this girl...I coloured her in first and then I found papers to suit...normally I do it the other way round...find the papers and colour to match them.

She was originally going to be a birthday card, but when it came to putting on the sentiment I decided she was more Valentines so I just added a chipboard heart and coloured that with Copics too.

The colours I used were:
Greys: C-1, C-3, C-5, C-7
Black 100
Outline BG10
Reds: R59, RV29, R29, R85
Skin: E51, E00, R20

I was so tempted to add glitter, but hubby said it didn't need it...it is a masculine card (for a man) after all, so I took his advice...but I am still thinking a little glitter here and there would be nice...Am going to give it to Ben for Valentines, even though he has seen it already...I love her too much for someone else to get her!

I used the sketch at The Sweet Stop and I absolutely loved it.  It works perfectly for an image that takes up nearly the whole card...keeping clean, simple lines, but still looking like effort has gone into the card.  I will definitely be using this sketch again.

I would like to enter some challenges:

Double Dutch - My Valentine
Cards for Men - Valentine/Love
Paper Sundaes - Valentines

So what are you waiting for??
Get some crazy colours out and enter our Crazy Hair Colour Combo Challenge....
its heaps of fun!

Alicia xx
