Project Life App

Hello,

So have you played with the new Project Life App?
I hastily downloaded it the day it became available and played with it for two hours late into the night.  It is incredible and amazing, super fast and fun!  One of the Layouts I made was this one.

A little back ground on the layout (so it makes a bit more sense to you):
Nicky is starting to really love craft...I have no idea where he gets that from lol!  As we all know, with crafting comes lots of mess.  Ben learnt about the word "Craftermath" a few weeks back and is using it regularly on little messes I leave around our crafting/computer room.  When I saw Nicky's craftermath I had to share it with Ben.  He loved the photo.

Here is a definition from Urban Dictionary:

Craftermath: The resulting and overwhelming mess that is leftlying all about after a full day, week, or month of creative pursuits. Massive amounts of creative supplies jumbled and piled all together, all aboutones workspace, making it impossible tocontinue crafting until cleaned and possibly preventing any inspiration whatsoever.

After her much needed craft day, the resulting craftermath looked like a tornado went throughher studio.

This word makes us laugh.

Baby Cakes ~ Picture My Life ~ Week Two ~ Pocket Scrapbooking

 Hello, and Welcome to my Week Two post for Picture My Life Baby Cakes!

If you missed Week One you can read and watch here.
Today I have two layouts to share.  These layouts will become the second and third page in my Baby Album. I am working through the album in chronological order.

Layout #1

In the first Layout I included four photos and one journalling card.  On the three 4x6 photos I added an embellishment I cut from a 3x4 or 4x6 card from the kit adding in how old I was in each of the photos. I am considering details that might be important for future generations to read.  I also added a little embellishment to the 3x4 and 4x6 filler cards.

Layout #1

I cut out this happy banner from a 4x6 card.  I made another little tag and attached it to the banner.  I wrote the date on this banner. I adhered the whole thing with 3D tape directly onto the photo.

Here I added some hearts I cut from other cards and some Close to my Heart Gold Sequins.

Layout #2

 The second Layout focuses on the event of my Baptism.  The photos have lots of detail so I didn't want to add any extra embellishments.  The background of the photos is quite historic because this is where my family goes to church and the buildings have all changed since these photos were taken.  This adds to the feel of the photos, and I didn't want to cover any of these details up.

Layout #2

I made a few adjustments to the filler cards by cutting and layering different cards and adhering them with 3D tape.  I love the cute giraffe picture and I love all the little clouds and love hearts in this kit.  It really is so cute and so "baby".  Its a very well-designed kit.  You can watch the video of how I made the second layout below.

"Learn Something New" Progress Update

Just popping on today to share my progress with "Learn Something New". I am currently a few days behind the schedule, but I am enjoying the time to think about new things I can learn each day. Writing the daily learnings on the little 3x4 cards is working really well.  They are all staying together in the Page Protector and can be written on whenever I have a spare moment.  When the month is over I will slip these pages into my Project Life Album as extra pages.  Very simple and working quite well.

Father's Day Cards or Male Birthday Cards for Dad

Hello,

Thanks for stopping by today.

I am sharing two very simple Father's Day cards today that I made recently using Kaisercraft papers and collectables. We celebrated Father's Day a couple of weeks ago in Australia.  These cards could also be used as birthday cards for Dad as well.

Nicky made a collage that we used for his card for Ben.  It is Daddy dressed up as a fireman.

My three shelves from target were delivered this week.  Three big boxes that need to be assembled.

Also I purchased boxes and magazine holders from Ikea.  These need to be put together as well.

I promise to share before and after pictures of our study/craft room as it hopefully becomes more organised!!!  Stay tuned....

The Monday Message

Good morning, and Happy Monday!

We went for a walk around the lake with some friends last Thursday and had a play at the park.  The park had a steering wheel which Nicky imagined was a fire truck.  I don't think I have mentioned how Nicholas is loving Fireman Sam these days. He watches the dvds, plays with the toys and turns all things into something to do with "Nee Naw" (fire truck noise) eg Nee Naw Nicky, Nee Naw Mummy, Nee Naw pole, Nee Naw tuck etc etc. He doesn't really understand "When I grow up, I want to be...." but if he did I think it would be a fireman!  This got me thinking about our dreams and goals. I saw this quote and thought it was inspirational.

We all need reminders to believe in ourselves and have big goals and dreams.  As kids we are encouraged to have such big dreams and goals, people are always asking, "What do you want to do when you finish school?"  When you get older no one seems to ask you these questions anymore.

What do you want to do when you grow up? lol
What do I want to do?

Maybe its time I think up some really big dreams and write them down....

Picture My Life ~ Baby Cakes ~ Pocket Scrapbooking ~ Week One

Welcome to Week One of my Baby Cakes Picture My Life series.  

This is a project I have been wanting to complete for a long time.

I have always wanted to scrap my own Baby photos into an album.

My Mum did a beautiful job on my Baby book and she had another photo album as well that covered the first two years of my life in photos.  I really wanted to put these two collections together.  The photos in the album needed to be removed and scanned and re-printed as they were getting damaged in the old album.  Luckily I did all the scanning, printing and the planning of this album about three years ago.  All that is left to do is use the products and finish it off - the best part! So today I am sharing my first Pocket Layout using Close to My Heart's Baby Cakes Picture My Life Scrapbooking program.

It is important to note that you do not need other products separate from the Picture My Life Scrapbooking Program to make this Layout.  The only things I used were basic tools like scissors, adhesive and 3D tape.  I also used a some ribbon from my stash and some Close to my Heart gold sequins.  So don't think Picture My Life Scrapbooking is going to cost a lot of money and you need lots of extra bits and pieces.  It doesn't.  Everything you need is in the kit.  They take the hard work out of shopping for these products.

Baby Cakes - Picture My Life Scrapbooking Program $24.95 USD

This is my first completed Layout for the album.  This will be the first page (after the Cover page).

The colours of the photos matched really nicely with the colours of the cards in the kit.  My baby photos really have that seventies "orange/brown" feel to them, so this will tie in well with the colours of the kit.  This was just luck and not planned at all!  

The first page of the album is me as a ten-day old baby with my Mum and Dad.  This is the earliest photo I have of myself. I love seeing photos of Mum and Dad so young! 

I love this "Noteworthy" 4x6 card.  I love the font! I added a little heart-banner I cut from another card and mounted it with 3D tape.

I cut these cute little clouds from a 4x6 card and mounted them onto another 4x6 card with 3D tape.  I added some little gold sequins as well.

I am really excited to be working with this kit.  I think it is so cute.
