Publication Layout (with Instructions) - Kaisercraft Base Coat

Today I'm popping in to share a Layout that was published in Creative Papercraft Magazine.  The layout features a photo of Nicky taken at the beach a few years ago.  This Layout was actually simple and fun to make.  I have included the instructions below.

Papers:

Kaisercraft Base Coat Release

P2305 Abstract Art, P2302 Metal Panels.

KaiserCraft Product:

IT440 6x6 Designer Template - Abstract Triangle, IP719 Ink Pad – Black, KC001 Kaiser Colour paint – White, KC013 Kaiser Colour Paint – Black, KM101 Kaiser Mist – Charcoal, CS257 Background Stamp – Script, DD176 Decorative Die – Arrows, SB793 Pearls – Black, FL580 Wooden Flourishes – Coggs, ST928 Clear Stickers – Life, CD102 12x12 Weave Card Stock – Black Liquorice.

Other: Cheesecloth, Impasto

Instructions:

Mix Impasto and White paint together and spread over Abstract Triangle Template onto ABSTRACT ART (Reverse).  Allow time for this to dry.  Ink edges of ABSTRACT ART (Reverse) with black ink.  Stamp Script Background Stamp onto base page.

Cut METAL PANELS into rectangles and ink edges with Black ink.  Layer rectangles horizontally and vertically into middle, right-hand side of the page.  Splatter Charcoal Kaiser Mist over the page. Layer some cheesecloth over the top of the metal panels and then two photographs.

Choose a title sticker and stick to the left-hand side of layered rectangles.  Cut several arrows from black card using Arrows Decorative Die.  Position these around the layered rectangles.

Paint Wooden Flourish Coggs black and glue around cluster of layers.  Embellish with a scattering of black pearls.

I kept the embellishments pretty simple - arrows and coggs mainly.

I love this template with the abstract triangles.

The Kaisercraft clear stickers are perfect for adding a quote onto layouts.

Kaisercraft September Blog Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends, Welcome to Spring and another Kaisercraft blog challenge! This layout certainly doesn't go with the season of Spring Lol!  Its an icy Christmas Layout of my sister and her two girls.  We took these photos last year on Christmas Day.  In black and white the photos don't look like they are taken on a hot summer's day! This month it is a Multi-Photo Layout Sketch.  What are your thoughts on Multi-Photo Layouts? Do you like them? I'm teaching a class soon and it is going to be a Multi-Photo Layout...its not my usual pick, but I can see the advantages of getting more photos onto the one page.

I decided to add some grey and silver into the colour palette for the Christmas Edition papers.

The wooden flourishes I left in the natural state because I felt they coordinated with the cream colour in the Collectables.

Kaisercraft Christmas Edition Card featuring Template and Colouring

Hello Crafty Friends, The theme over at the Kaisercraft Blog today was Templates.  Our job was to make a project featuring a Template.  I chose to use the pretty Swirl Flourish Template...I love swirls and flourishes.

I used plain Impasto paste on top of the wooden paper from the Paper Pad.  Then once it had dried (and it dried fairly translucent) I inked it with Black ink.  This was something a little different for me because normally I mix the Impasto paste with acrylic paint.  The inking was easy and fun for a change.  I was happy with the effect.

I also coloured the flowers in and the leaves from the Collectables using the Kaisercraft Colouring in pencils.  The colours I used were: CL832 Lime CL809 Candy CL814 Rose CL845 Black CL846 Storm This is my first time colouring in with the pencils.  They are very soft and very easy to blend with.  The pencils are available in 12, 24, 36 and 48 sets.  I have the 48 set.

1st Birthday Card for Rosie

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a card I made for a friend to give to her daughter Rosie on her first birthday.  The party was a ballerina theme with a beautiful cake and gorgeous looking biscuits and things to eat!  My friend asked for a vintage inspired pink card and so this is what I came up with.  

I mixed a few old Kaisercraft collections to make the card.

I managed to get a number one in there too.

Lots of yummy pinkness and it all tasted as sweet and as delicious as it looks!  Just looking at these photos make me want to go and eat something sugary!

Sparkly Kaisercraft Christmas Jewel Layout

Over at the Kaisercraft Blog today its all about sparkles and silver.  I made this Layout for my contribution to the post.  Its a photo of Nicky on his first Christmas.

I really went to town on the sparkly theme and enjoyed layering lots of Collectables and Die cuts.


This Layout was actually really quick and really fun to make.

I cut the "Believe" die out in Glitter Card Stock.  I love this die.

Life has been busy for me lately...lots of crafty deadlines behind the scenes and lots of other life stuff going on.  I'm looking forward to things settling down a little soon.  Hope you are well : )

Father's Day Cards using Kaisercraft's Factory 42

Ive been making Father's Day cards...and now I'm all set to celebrate the wonderful Husband, Dad, Grandfather and Father-in-Law I have in my life.  Its not like me to be so organised! But, I have already ordered Ben's present and the other's I always buy the Darrel Lea Dad's Bags for.  Australia Post does a free shipping option on these Dad Bags so I usually order them online and have them sent directly to each address.

I used Kaisercraft's Factory 42 Collection to make my cards and these actually came together quite quickly.  I followed the same sketch for each card and just altered them all slightly.  Lot's of mounting tape, for dimension, added in : )

What are your Father's Day plans? I need some ides for how to spend the day : )
