A Scrapbooking Page, Award and a New Challenge Blog

Well the last two days I have been working on this little project. Scrapbooking just doesn't seem to come easily to me...but I am prepared to keep practicing until it does! Goodness knows I have enought photos to practice with! LOL! I used the August Sketch from Sweetie's Sketches and I used some baby photos of me...sounds a bit self-focused, but I am enjoying the journey of learning about my childhood from talks on the phone to Mum about the photos as I scrap them and I think it is actually quite healing.

I also wanted to thank Linda and Victoria for passing me on the Circle of Friends Award. I saw it floating out there in the blogging world and was hoping it might come my way. Thank you so much for passing it on to me!
I will forward it on to:

Beccy
Lucinda
Amanda
Jeannie
Tomorrow is the 4th of August and that is the launch of the Delicious Diva Blog! I am so excited because it has felt like such a long wait till the launch! I have designed a card for it so why not pop on over and check it out...there are even prizes to be one if you are a follower.
Well this has been the longest post ever! I am off to bed...Hope you had a lovely Monday. Thanks for visiting my blog.

An Altered Project

I felt like making something other than a card and I was blog-hopping around for inspiration. I came across the challenge at Stampin' for the Weekend. There challenge was "Alterations". You have to alter something and make it prettier. I have a lot of noodle boxes left over from Ben's party and I have been looking for an excuse to have a play with them. My friend Carrie also gives me little hand-me-down gifts all the time, like her magazines, moisturisers, perfumes and other things she doesn't need anymore. She is a very beautiful and generous friend so I thought I could maybe make something for her. Hopefully she can find some use for this little box.

I used the colours Sage Shadow and Chocolate Chip, the retired SU stamp set "Bold Butterfly" (one of my favourites) and some retired SU paper.

I am beginning an enormous project - Scrap Booking all my baby photos. I have already done a couple of pages this year, but now I want to get "serious"! Today I went to the camera shop and asked them to scan in 80 of my photos. They said it would cost $175! Can you believe it! Just to scan them in. I said I think I would be better doing that myself, so this afternoon I scanned in the first 20. It took a long time and then the computer started to make funny noises so I thought I better give it a rest. So I will have to continue more scanning tomorrow. Then I will just take my external hard drive to the shop and print them off.

I am a real beginner with scrap booking so I am looking for any blogs with really good hints and tips about all the tricks of the trade. If you know of any please let me know, or if you have any of your own tips I would be so grateful! I promise to post a few photos along the way of the work in progress!!!
Hope you are having a lovely weekend.

La-La Land Blog Candy and DT Call

Well it has been ages since I have entered a Blog Candy, but this one was too good to pass up! At La-La Land Crafts there is a yummy Blog-candy to be won and a DT call as well! Irina is looking for six DT members, so if you are interested why not pop over and check it out!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday and Girls have fun with Pearls!

My card today is following the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge incorporated with "Girls just wanna have fun" challenge from Creative Card Crew and because I am still making cards with lots of pearls the Pearl challenge from Stamp with Fun.
I have used papers from SU and DCWV "Sweet Stack", pearls from my Pretties Kit, flowers from my stash and ribbon from some blog candy I won from Cheryl awhile back now.
My second sick day at home today and I am beginning to feel much better! My eyes are almost back to normal and I have been catching up on lots of rest. I am missing my class though and hope they are having a good day today with Debbie the teacher taking my class.
Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Tuesday Sketch with Pearls

I followed the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketchers to make this card. Well - sort of followed it. I couldn't get the wavy look behind the image so I went for a straight piece instead.

I also used the Pearl Challenge from Stamp with Fun. It has been ages since I have combined two challenges for the one card. I am in love with pearls at the moment from my SU Pretties Kit. I love the ones you can glue on, because I have a bit of trouble sometimes with brads.

I LOVE this Magnolia pony stamp. I think it is just adorable. I coloured it with Pretty in Pink ink and my aqua painter and covered it in Crystal effects and Dazzling diamond glitter. Papers are all SU. I embossed the pink card with white and a retired Stampin' Around wheel.

I am having today and tomorrow off work as I have had a viral infection that has left me with an allergic eye condition. My eyes are all swollen and read and itchy - not a pretty sight! After three visits to the doctor and an optometrist, two different eye drops and an eye ointment, I think they have finally figured out the condition. Apparently I am over the worst of it.
Hope your week is going well for you.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

Pink Elephant Challenge

Last night I was looking for some motivation/inspiration and I came across a sketch challenge at The Pink Elephant. It has been quite a while since I have participated in one of their great challenges. I was originally looking for a simple sketch to make several cards but I only got through the one, when I decided to have an early night.
I am obsessed with embossing at the moment...if you haven't already figured that out (if you have read my last few posts) and am not tired of it yet. So I included some black embossing on my purple card stock again using a SU "Stampin Around wheel". I wanted to make a modern card, hence the colours green, purple and black and a digi stamp from Pink Petticoat Collections. I also embossed the sentiment in white. I punched out the flower shape for something a little different to my usual stick-on flowers.
A few dramas at school today...behaviour issues mainly. It can be draining...I am hoping the week will pick up! I hope you had a terrific day...thanks for visiting my blog. I love reading your comments.
