Southern Girls DT - Valentines

Hi Blogging Beauties,

Today there is a new challenge at Southern Girls!

Valentines

We have two wonderful sponsors this fortnight and so we were lucky enough to receive two images to play with!  I made four cards altogether...probably enough Valentines cards to last me awhile!

The first two cards are made with a Pink Cat Studio digi image called Bronty.  Have you ever visited this site? Oh my there is a lot of cute, cute digis...and rubber stamps too.  I love the style...simple, cartoon images...so, so cute!

The second two cards are made with a digi called Cupcake Cherrie she is available at Tickled Pink Stamps and as a digi is only $3.50! Obviously she would be great for birthdays too!  First I did her in pinks...then I had another go and tried her in reds.  I think I like pink better...but I prefer the brown hair...which is your favourite??  I really enjoyed colouring her in with my Copic markers.

So what are you waiting for??? Dig out your love-heart stamps, papers, punches etc and link up a card at Southern Girls...you might even be lucky and win a prize!

M4M DT - Australia Day Colours

Hi Blogging Beauties,

There is a new challenge over at Mad for Markers and the theme is Australia Day. You have to use the colours red, white and blue or yellow and green. I chose red, white and blue for this one and thought I would go with a Nautical-themed card.

I used scraps of paper, some recycled ribbon, and a computer typed sentiment. I used some white Fun Flock on the ocean spray and clouds to give a textured look and a little Kindy-Glitz on the water. The Fun Flock is brand new and I managed to get bits of it everywhere!!

I coloured with Copics and I used the following colours:

Blues: B29, B97, B45, B24
Reds: RV29, R59, R35, R37
Skin: E00, E21
Hair: E47, E37, E35
Greys: C-3, C-5, B60,
Outline BG10

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Craft Your Passion - Lets Tie One On
Cupcake Craft - Something New (Fun Flock)
Just Magnolia - Anything Goes
My Partner in Crafting Crime - Something New (Fun Flock)

If you are up for some colouring fun head on over to Mad for Markers and upload your creations!

A Pink Tri-fold Card

Hi Blogging Beauties,

I had a little play last night and came up with this card. It is only my second tri-fold card I have done. I went for the distressed, shabby chic look. The papers were all SU scraps and the flowers are Prima.

I have some new nestabilities and punches, dont know if you noticed. I used a new Nestability on the front of the card. I ordered myself some goodies and they arrived the other day. I took a picture to show you....

It was my Christmas present to myself, but it went on a long journey and didnt make it until early January. I am slowly working my way through all the new goodies...some I dont even know how to work LOL!

Back to my card...it was hard to photograph, so I did the best I could.
I would like to enter it in these challenges:
Allsorts - Fancy Fold
Crazy for Challenges - Colour Inspiration
Cute Card Thursday - Out with the old (paper scraps)

We have been taking Milly for walks with us in the afternoon. She trots along...pauses to eat something at the side of the road and then races to catch up with us. If a car comes by we clip her lead onto her collar and hold her still. So it is Ellie, Milly, Ben and I walking down the road...we are quite a sight! She is settling in well and fattening up quickly. We cant really see that she is making too much of a difference in the paddock yet. We did have her on a lead tied to a heavy tyre for the first few days to see if she was settling in okay. But I let her go free today and she got through the fence and into the paddock that Jessie is in. That is full of long grass too so we dont mind her eating in there either. I think they have obviously became good friends. If I think of it I will take a photo to show you us all on a walk...I just love animals...they are such good friends.

I'm off to try and get a card made!
Thanks for stopping by,

Meet Milly!

Hi Blogging Beauties,

As you may have read, last week we lost one of our pet lambs, Jack. We are not sure how he died, but it was very upsetting. Apart from being great company Jack and Jessie were supposed to be keeping down some grass in our paddock...but with Jack gone, there was no way Jessie would have a chance on her own. We decided to get a goat so after a few phone calls we went and bought Milly.

Milly is four months old and so is a good eater already.
Goats actually prefer to eat thistles than grass which is what attracted us to buying one.
They also make great pets...some people get them instead of dogs. They like pats and human company...but they do bleat loudly a lot!!

You can see in this photo behind Milly our long grass and thistles in this paddock. This is where our chooks go in the day time to peck around and eat grass and worms etc. You can see how much grass is in there and why we are keen for Milly to get munching asap!

Just thought I would introduce you to her! We of course love her already!

Thanks for stopping by,

Aussie Cards for Sale

Good morning Blogging Beauties,

I wanted to say a big "Thank you" to all the talented and amazing card-makers who applied to my Designer search for www.aussiecardsforsale.com

We have had an amazing response...many of you are keen to sell your cards online. I have had to close the designer search earlier than expected. Otherwise I may need to divorce my hubby and marry my computer LOL!

I am still visiting your blogs and making my decisions which is very tricky!

I have saved all your details and dont despair if you dont hear from me straight away. I may contact you within the next month or so when things have settled down a bit. It has been a time-consuming job getting everything set-up so please be patient and you may hear from me soon!

If you havent visited the new website hop on over here and see the amazing designers already recruited...many who regularly publish in Australian Scrapbooking and Cardmaking Magazines!!! Please encourage family and friends to check out the site. The more buyers we get the more designers I can recruit. It is a great way to encourage others to appreciate the time and effort of a hand-made card...so much nicer than a mass-produced store-bought card.

Thank you so much for your interest and support,
