Southern Girls DT ~ Flowers

Good Morning Blogging Beauties,

Today is the start of a new challenge at Southern Girls and it is "Flowers".
I think we might get hundreds of entries for this one...everyone loves to add flowers to their cards!

Last night I went to my first class for Floristry and I made this table arrangement.  We get to bring it home and keep it, so that is pretty cool!  Unfortunately we didnt get to choose our flowers...so I did the best with what I was given.  I really enjoyed it.  I am keen to have another go! I love flowers and it was so much fun trying to learn how to arrange them.

This is the card I have made for the challenge.  It was a special request from one of the TAFE ladies who are buying my cards.  For a lady to give to her sister on her 40th Birthday.
My first attempt for this challenge I tried to make a card covered in flowers but it turned out looking pretty awful! I realised that I dont use flowers on my cards as much as I used to and I think I might be out of practice.  This card was my second attempt.  I decorated the inside as well.

So, why not play along this fortnight at Southern Girls and link up your cards with flowers on it!
Have a lovely day and thanks for stopping by.

A Variety of Male Cards

Good evening Blogging Beauties,

I have some cards to share that have been waiting to be posted for about a week.
I think there is only one left that hasn't been sold or given away...I have needed lots of male cards lately!  Am just home from my first Floristry course.  I had fun! I have taken a photo of my bouquet and will post tomorrow.  Can't wait to show it to you!

Thanks for your lovely comments and your blogging friendship.
I love sharing things with you.

P.S I am getting sick of the signature always going to the left and not being centred...might not use if for awhile.
P.S.S.  I dont seem to have time to enter any challenges lately...I dont know why, but life seems very busy!

Mad for Markers ~ DT ~ Brown, Male Cards

It is my day to remind you about the current Mad for Markers challenge ~ Brown, male cards.
I bought this new Kenny K image as I am currently addicted to these stamps.  I already know who I am giving this card to.  My cousin Shayne - his b'day isn't till May but this card is perfect for him.  He would love to be a rock star!

I coloured with Copics (surprise, surprise!) and I used these colours:
Browns: E31, E33, E35, E37, E47
Skin: E21, E00, R20
Greys: C-1, C-3, C-5, C-7
Reds: R17, R46, R27, R35, R59
Blues: B45, B95, B32

This is what it looks like folded up.

Went to work at a new school today.  They rang me at 8:30 and I was still in my PJs.  Had to do a quick change and get ready for 9am start.  I had a lovely day and only had to work till 1:30 so was home by 2pm.

I also signed up to a Florist course at the TAFE today.  Wed nights from 6-10pm.  I go tomorrow! I am a bit nervous but excited at the same time! Cant wait to see what we get to make!! You pay $25 per class and they order you flowers to play with.  Should be fun! Might even make some new friends!

My Nan comes home from hospital today.  She will be so happy about that as she hates hospitals and she was getting really sick of being there.  Luckily my auntie Ellen (she is a nurse) will be staying with them for a week so she can help her settle into a good routine with her new medication.

Thats about it from me tonight.  Thanks for stopping by.

Ben and I made the paper today from the Cocktail Ball we went to on Saturday night.
I also won a raffle ticket prize - a wii!!

Thought you might be interested in a little look.  I wore those killer shoes I bought and showed you a few posts ago...had them off my feet and my feet under a table most of the night.  Didnt get a blister though...so they didnt go too badly!  You were supposed to add a "touch of country" to your outfit hence the people in hats and boots...we didnt though.

My poor Nan is very keen to get out of hospital, but we arent sure when.  She is now anaemic and well as on Warfarin, plus she has a few other dramas as well.  I took her up some chocolates today...I found out caramel is her fave...lucky there was some caramel ones!

I survived my two days of work, but still after a career change...am thinking of maybe doing a florist course.  Would like to have a break from schools and kids for awhile and maybe do something a bit creative....just an idea.

I hope you had a nice weekend and your week is shaping up well too.
