5 Steps to a Simple Scrapbook LO using Project Life Cards

Hi there!

This Layout was so fun and quick to make I thought I would share it with you. Here is a quick 5 Step Photo Tutorial...

Step 1 ~ Gather your Resources

What you will need:
  • 12 x 12 White Card
  • your 4x6 photo
  • 1 4x6 Pocket Scrapbooking card
  • 5 3x4 Pocket Scrapbooking cards (I used Project Life Midnight Edition)
  • washi tape
  • scissors
  • adhesive tape
  • glue
  • rhinestones
  • heart shape punch (not pictured in photo)
  • rounded corner punch (not pictured in photo)
  • sewing machine with black thread (not pictured in photo)

 Step 2 ~ Add your 4x6 Card

This is as simple as it gets!  Round the corner of your photo first, then layer it onto your chosen 4x6 card.  Don't stick it down to the 12x12 card yet.

Step 3 ~ Layer your 3x4 cards

Play around with your 3x4 cards and place them under your matted photo leaving little bits sticking out from under the edge of the photo.  When you are happy with your design adhere it to your 12x12 card.

Step 4 ~ Embellishments and Journalling

Add in a little bit of journalling somewhere. I added mine below the photo in the corner.  Punch some hearts out of the 3x4 cards and position on your page as embellishments.  Tear up some bits of Washi tape and stick down.  Glue down some silver and black rhinestones.

Step 5 ~ Add some stitching

This is optional.  You can add some Machine stitching over your photo, cards and heart embellishments if you wish.

Thats it! Your done.  Do you agree it is simple? I personally like all the white space and I also like the black and white colour palette.  If you do happen to follow this process or be inspired by it please leave a comment so I can hop on over and see your work.

Did you know that if you can hold a smile for 17 seconds you can change your energy!
Try it....smile and count to 17 slowly...you feel happier right!
I'm feeling awesome because I have been smiling while I write up this post!
If you keep smiling and last up until 68 seconds you have enough energy to affect physical manifestation.

Smile today, and think happy thoughts.

A Clean, Simple and Cheery Card

Good morning!

Happy Tuesday to you all!

Do you like honey? Our family LOVES it.  My uncle is a bee keeper and gives us the best, yummiest honey ever!!

I am sharing a Clean, Simple and Cheery card today I made to give to my Aunt and Uncle to remind them how much we appreciate their honey.

This card was quick and easy to make.  Here's how I did it:
  1. I added the sentiment and clip art picture in Microsoft word and printed it out onto A4 white card stock.
  2. I coloured the image with Copic Markers: Y38, Y17, YR16, E49, E35, E57, E37.
  3. I drew some little dots on the card showing where the bees have flown around with a black pen.
  4. I added Kindy Glitz to the honey
  5. I tied a big, bright, yellow bow.

I must say I am lending towards clean and simple cards at the moment.  I am appreciating more white space. Do you like the clean and simple look?

Just for fun I am linking up at Less is More
There are some gorgeous Clean and Simple cards over there if you want to take a look.

Before you go though, have you considered entering my Gratitude Link Up?  Are you a bit like me and like to practice Gratitude?

Simple Scrapbooking with Multiple Photos - Fast and Easy

Hello Friends,

I hope you are having a beautiful week! The sun is shining here on the Gold Coast today which always makes me smile : )

Do you have a little group of photos from a special event? A birthday, happy memory, Mother's Day??? I had these cute little photos.  Ben took them in sequence when I opened my Mother's Day present from Nicky.  These little photos warm my heart and I wanted them to have a special page in my Project Life Album.  But I wanted something quick and easy...this is what I came up with...

How I made the Layout
1. I chose four matching papers
2. I chose four photos
3. I layered the photos onto 3x4 cards (2 per photo).
4. I chose to add doilies to two of the layered photos.
5. I added a couple of embellishments and a hand-written title.
6. I drew on borders with a white gel pen.

Thats it!!
I did this beside the TV with Nicholas watching me do it.  It was easy and quick! I slipped it in to my Project Life Album as a feature page to celebrate Mother's Day.

The products I used are:
  • Dreamy Paper Pad 6x6 Heidi Swapp
  • Project Life 3x4 cards but I cant remember exactly what kit they come from.
  • Heidi Swapp Hello Today Flair Embellishments
  • Heidi Swapp Dreamy Ephemera
  • Heidi Swapp Happy Chipboard stickers.
Thanks for visiting my blog,
