Paper Play Challenges - A Sketch to Follow

Hi Blogging Buddies, I am excited to share this post with you today! Its is Thursday and that means it is time for another Paper Play Challenge and this week it is a sketch designed by Sandie. It is a great sketch to use too! I have included it in this post just below. It is a great way to show off some lovely Designer Papers and I used my new SU Cottage Wall papers.
This week we are sponsored by Meljen's Designs and I was given this sweet little bunny to use and I love this image! It's proper name is "Garden Bun Bun Fairy" and you can buy it for only $3 here. The sentiment I downloaded for free. Did you know Meljen Designs has a freebie every Monday? Check them out here. I really love the style of these images...cute with swirls and sparkles surrouinding them and I love the font of the sentiments as well.
Will you be playing along this week? I'd love you to! Make a card with this sketch and enter...

I took a photo to show you the inside of my card as well. Kept it simple, but matching to the front of the card. I used SU Certainly Celery and Brushed Silver to go with th DP and the Whisper White.
I would like to enter the follwoing challenges:
Paper Take Weekly - In the Garden Challenge
The Play Date Cafe - Purple, Lilac and Green
Stampavie and More - Anything Goes
Two exciting things happened at our place this week. The first one was that our chickens that we have had since they were three days old (and they are now about 5 months old) laid their first two eggs. So that was very cool! And the second thing is that we have got a new dog, Ellie living with us now. She comes from Mum and Dad's farm and she is pretty old, but they were happy to give her to us because they have got a new sheep dog to train. Ellie is a Border Collie crossed with Cattle Dog so she has lots of energy! I have been taking her for lots of walks, and she just loves pats and attention. This is a photo of her below after she had a swim in the dam. She does get very dirty here...especially as we have had lots of rain and there is mud everywhere!
I hope you are having a lovely week...thanks for visiting me today!

Bulk Cards

I had the urge to make some bulk cards today. It was so rainy and bleak outside, crafting seemed like the perfect way to spend some time. After my box of new SU goodies arrived I couldn't wait to have a play! I used the colours Real Red, Black and Whisper White to make these cards and thought this would qualify me for the Crazy 4 Challenges - Red, Black and White competition, alos the Pollycraft Monday Challenge - Bold and Bright! These colour combination certainly makes bold and bright cards.
I made six cards, nearly all are slightly different, because I changed my mind a bit as I went. I used my new SU Cottage Garden stamp set which was so much fun to stamp wherever I felt like! A nice change from colouring in the lines. I experimented with my new Sissix Top Note die and layered some with black and left some plain white. I pop-dotted some of the flowers to make them jump off the page a little.
This photo is pretty ordinary...but shows off the cards nicely if you ignore the reflection in the coffee table glass...I need to get better at photographing a group of cards. I used a cuttlebug folder to emboss the red card.
Here they all are lying flat...you can see in the first one I made I used the black and white stripe ribbon, but then I found a nicer, thicker all black ribbon and so I swapped over to that. I wouldn't mind doing a similar set in some different colours.
Thanks for looking today,

SU Goodies!

Holiday Fun...

We head home tomorrow after our week's holiday and it has been very busy and fun.  We spent lots of time catching up with our friends...
This photo above and below are some of my teaching friends from my old school.  We had a night out starting with dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe in Surfers.
We had a picnic at Biggera Waters with some Mums and some of my ex-students who are growing up so quickly! (Not the best photo as they are all squinting into the sun)
We also had a night out in Brisbane with our friends Ben and Tam and some of their friends.
And then of course there is Harbour Town - my favourite shop in the whole entire world!  I spent a few good hours there today and scored some great bargains, jackets, jeans, shoes etc.

Tomorrow we do the eight hour drive home and then it will be getting used to the cold weather again...I plan to catch up on all my blogging.  I havent been hopping around this week...there has been too much going on! So I will definately catch up with you all when I get home.

Thanks for visiting me and commenting on my blog.  I love reading your comments.

Until then, happy crafting,

Alicia xx
