Some Male Cards

Hi Blogging Beauties,

I needed a few more male cards for the stash...so whipped these couple up.
The papers are SU and music from an old music book I bought at a second-hand book sale.
Some of the edges I inked with Vintage Photo ink.

I coloured the guitar in with Copics:

W-1, W-3, W-5, W-7
E35, E37 and Y28

I didnt ink any edges on this card (above)...just kept it plain.  I used a bit of SU chipboard around the computer printed sentiment and added a button.

For the card below I stamped a SU happy B'day stamp and stapled on some black rope that i recycled from a gift bag.  Added a chipboard circle coloured with Sepia Copic marker and pasted a button inside.

Thought I might play along with:

Frosted Designs - Monochromatic
Totally Gorgeous - As you like it

These cards are for sale at Aussie Cards for Sale along with a wide variety of gorgeous hand-made cards by 18 different designers.  Hop on over here to have a look!

I used papers and rub-ons and flowers from the Prima Road Trip Collection.

I have taken a little video of what the album looks like because it was kind of hard to take some good photographs.

Mad For Markers - DT - Australian Colours

Hi Blogging Beauties,

Tomorrow is Australia Day and a friend of our's birthday.
I made my Mad for Marker's DT card just for him.
How cool to have your b'day on Australia Day - you could always be assured of a public holiday!!

I kept my card fairly simple and let the image be the main focus. For the M4M challenge you have to use Aussie colours. You can choose yellow and green or red, white and blue.

To be honest I was a bit nervous about yellow and green...dont know if I have ever made a card with those colours before...but it turned out quite cute I think! Why dont you have a go and link yours up to Mad for Marker's Monthly Challenges.

I coloured with Copics and these are the colours I used:

Greens: G28, G07, YG23
Yellows: Y17, Y15, Y11
Skin: E21, E00
Greys: W-1, W-3, W-5, W-7
Salmons: R05, RV42
Outline: BG10

I would like to enter a couple of challenges please:

Craft Your Passion - Use two patterned papers
Paper Playtime - Anything party related
My Time to Craft - Spots and Dots
Cards for Men - Lets Party!

Thanks for popping over and seeing my card.
Have a great day!

A Late Post!

Hi Blogging Beauties,

I am up really late tonight because I just got back from another concert - Phil and Tommy Emmanuel 50th Anniversary - OMG it was amazing! Those two are like guitar Gods!  We had an awesome time listening to them rock the room!

Life has been really busy lately.  I havent had much time to visit blogs...or return comments, but I am having a quiet day tomorrow so hopefully I will catch up on everything.

This is a card I made for my Mum for her birthday.
I thought I would enter it in:

2 Sisters - Flowers

Carol and Annette you are interested in my brother's cd and dvd.  My brother's name is Paddy Ryan and his new cd/dvd is called "Rhymes and Rubik's Cubes".  Carol, I have to check with him if I can put an audio on my blog...you know copyright and all that....he really needs his own website...might have to suggest it!  The cd/dvd retails for $25.  Here is a picture of the album.  Paddy does two shows a day during the festival so that keeps him very busy.  I am so proud of him.  I admire people who get up and perform in front of thousands of people!...Even just a few can make me nervous!

Sorry if this has been a disjointed post! I am off to bed to get some sleep.
Will catch up on comments tomorrow.
Goodnight,

Mad for Markers DT - Aussie Colours

Hi Blogging Beauties,

I am having another go at the Red, Blue and White theme we have happening at Mad for Markers.  I went with this Kenny K image because they are really motivating me to "colour" at the moment.  I am down to my last scraps of red and need to buy more red card asap.  I kept the sketch simple and uncluttered so the image can really stand out.

I coloured with the following Copics:

Skin: E21, E00, R20
Hair:E47, E37, E35, E31
Reds: R59, R27, R85
Blues: B29, B24, B05
Greys: C-1, C-3, C-5
Outline: BG10

I thought I might enter some challenges as I havent entered anything for ages it seems.

Totally Papercrafts - Happy Birthday
OSSAT - New (new digi - never coloured her before)

I actually love using this colour scheme.  Everything comes out so bright and fresh.
Why dont you play along?
Link up your creations at Mad for Markers and join in the fun!

Happy Colouring,

Missing in Action

Hi Blogging Beauties,

I have been missing in action for a few days...Lots has been happening.  We went to Coffs Harbour for a funeral and stayed a couple of nights it was good to catch up with family.  The morning we left for home Mum and I went for a walk along the beach and I took a few photos including the one above.  Then I had a lovely swim in the pool where we were staying.  It was so nice to be near the ocean.

Now in Tamworth, it is Country Music Festival.  We went and saw Kasey Chambers perform on Saturday night.  I bought her cd and got it autographed.  We lined up to get a photo with her like true fans!  The photo shows my cousins Monica and Brigid, then Kasey and then me.

This morning I went and saw my brother perform.  My brother is a Bush Poet.  That means he gets up on stage and recites poetry about the Australian Bush.  He writes his own poems and they are always really funny.  He has a new cd and dvd out at the moment for sale.  I know I am probably biased but I do believe he is the best Bush Poet in Australia!!  One of his poems is called "The Rubics Cube" and while he says the poem he solves the rubics cube.  It is a very tricky poem due to having to solve the puzzle at the same time.  I took a photo of him on stage but the lights were shining in his face and so it didn't come out very well.  Sorry about that.

These are just a few shots of Peel St (main street in Tamworth) where all the action is happening with street performers etc.  Can you see the lady in the background in the pink shirt and black cowboy hat?  She was line dancing to the music (as you do!) everyone was really getting into the feel of the festival.

And lastly, before I go I wanted to share with you my Carmel Meringue pie I made yesterday for my Mum's B'day party last night.  It was my first ever one and I was pretty happy with how it turned out.

Thanks for reading my ramblings.  I will be back with a card tomorrow.
